This album is awesome. Solitaire by Sheryl Crow is one of my faves.

Umm, yeah. Own it, have since it came out. Still listen to it, and my kids are convinced that Karen Carpenter sings that Sonic Youth song.

I remember Redd Kross. They were identical twin men who had this retro seventies thing going on. They were even in a direct to video movie with David Cassidy.

I totally had this CD. I loved it! I’ve lost it over time but seeing the post here I may have to get it again. That’s so cool that it’s featured in Juno.
My favs on there were Goodbye To Love by AMC, Superstar by Sonic Youth, Calling Occupants by Babes In Toyland and of course Top Of The World by Shonen Knife. “Your love put me on top of the wurd” Classic!

i have always championed this album ever since it came out when i was in MY senior year in high school.. (Wow, Nicholas, we’re the same age).. and it’s got the perfect song for any mood. The one i most recently blasted was ‘Bless the Beast and the Children’ by 4Non Blonds

I heard Juno originally ended with an abortion scene, but test audiences thought it was a downer, so the studio made them change it to the one where she gives birth? Is that true? I think it would have been interesting with the abortion ending, but, like, in a different way.

I also graduated in 1994 and Love this CD! Thanks for giving a ahout out for Shonen Knife, theier cover of Top Of The World is fantastic! And Sonic Youth’s cover still gives me chills and might just be the saddest song in the world.

I was watching Melrose Place today and Sydney had a big picture of this album cover on her wall.

Does that ever bring back memories – and I love Sonic Youth’s version of Superstar with all it’s distorted vocals.

Agreed, it’s such a shame that this is out of print. The other day the Babes in Toyland cover of Calling Occupants came on my iPod and I was in BLISS.

Got this my sophomore year in college…LOVED IT. still love it. inspired me to go see my first shonen knife show.

Amazing album. I discovered the Carpenters my freshmen year of high school. Then this album came out my senior year. I grew nostalgic when it was mentioned in the movie too.
