ringo especially could not get into the whole maharishi TM thing- he left after only a week of so when they were in his camp because he couldn't stand the spicy food! george had a great sense of humor when it came to spoofing himself and the beatles legacy so i imagine the walk hard scene would have gotten a chuckle out of him.

Actually the division of The Beatles concerning the Maharishi goes back before John decided he didn't like him anymore. When the four of them initially went to see the Maharishi, George and John were totally into it. Paul and Ringo, not so much so. Paul and Ringo left early, and that act is what John states as being the beginning of the end for The Beatles. John later stated that The Maharishi was a womanizer, claims that George and Paul have denied any truth to.

George would have loved that scene, considering his involvement in the Rutles. Also, you forgot to mention the scene in Yellow Submarine where Nowhere Man is the Maharishi. Now obviously, the Beatles didn't write that film or write the song about him, but it is still another Beatles related reference.
