Sarah Silverman’s “I’m ****ing Matt Damon” video. Hysterical and catchy!!

  • Vicky

Farscape on iTunes. This TV show of the future is finally entering the 21st century.

Sheryl Crow’s Detours provides a nice return to form. The political writing is sharp. The current state of American politics is bad for Americans, but great for Sheryl Crow fans.

  • Hi

I have to second the Matt Damon/Sarah Silverman video. That’s the funniest thing I’ve seen in a while. For Damon to not just participate in the video but to sing, dance and go the whole nine yards, well that’s just really cool.

    ‘The Brave One’
    Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates

Don’t forget the Colbert/Conan/Stewart ‘feud’! It’s the only good thing to come out of the writers’ strike!

    Kelly Clarkson “My December”
and I second Revolutionary Road. I suggested it a few months ago, because everyone MUST read it before the movie comes out.

The Beatles “White Album.” While the band may not have agreed on the Maharishi and his methods, their time in India led to one of the best albums of all time, and brought the Beatles back from the edge of the pop-psyche abyss.

Wilco’s Winter Residency 2008 – 5 shows exploring the band’s complete recorded works. Each performance featuring a one-of-a-kind set list. I’ll be there all 5 nights, February 15-16-18-19-20, at the Riviera in Chicago.

The new web show, The Battery’s Down, is a must during the writer’s strike, especially for theatre fans. It’s hilarious and the music is catchy.

I found this pretty cool blog for the free music site called RUCKUS. They have what they call a “MusicScope” that gives you a horoscope & a song of the week, plus they do some pretty cool Top 10 lists. It’s http://www.blog.ruckus.com.

Friday Night Lights!! Please start watching and prove to NBC that America appreciates quality tv.

  • Snarf

    TV – Lost
Book – Celebutantes (I was right! The you tube commercial spot EW profiled for it mirrors the humour perfectly)
    DVD – The Brave One

  • Sara

I’m loving: 1. The Sarah Silverman video
    2.Friday Night Lights
3.Rihanna’s new single “Don’t Stop the Music”

    -Big Brother coming soon!
-The super sexy Make me a Supermodel
-The King of Kong on DVD

  • Carrie

TV – The 30th Annual Bud Shootout on Saturday 2/9 and then the Daytona 500 on 2/17. NASCAR’s back!!!

  • v

    1. “In Treatment” – the fact that I get to see Gabriel Byrne on my TV every weeknight is a nice way to end my day.
    2. Conan/Colbert/Stewart feud – the fight on Late Night Monday night had me in tears. Loved how they showed Stewart fighting Conan from Conan’s POV so Stewart was half out of frame.
    3. Daniel Day-Lewis – I’ve been on a Day-Lewis bender since seeing “There Will Be Blood.” Every time he comes out with a new movie, I fall in love with him all over again.

  • Martin

Mary J. Blige’s Growing Pains is a phenomenal album that shows just how far this singer has come, and “Come to Me (Peace)” is the powerhouse song that proves it.

    1. TV on DVD–Catching up with all the TV shows I missed when they were on the air (Veronica Mars, Arrested Devlopement), and getting my fixes of the one’s I’m waiting for the writers strike to bring back (30 Rock, The Office).
    2. Breaking Bad. Wow. Bryan Cranston is amazing and that show is so good, yet it makes me feel slightly disgutsted. I almost feel like I need a show after I watch it (which is why I think I like it so much).

  • David Dyer

Another vote for the Stewart-Colbert-Conan feud. Pure genius.

  • Marc

    1. George Michael – 25 plus years later, he’s still one of the most talented, soulful, singer/songwriters of our time. If “Eli Stone” reminds people of that and bring him commercial success, once again, in America , all the better.
    2. Victor Garber – He is such a great actor and warm presence, that he makes any TV show he is in, infintely better. Can’t wait to see him sing “Freedom” on the afforementioned “Eli Stone” this week.
    3. LOST – As last week’s premiere proved, there is TV and then there is LOST.

  • Nathan

Across the Universe on BLU-RAY – Puts the regular DVD to shame.

  • brian

    F***ing Matt Damon is good.
So is will.i.am’s YES WE CAN video for Obama. ScarJo!

  • Lennie

Music: Sia, Some People Have Real Problems
    Music: Ryan Adams’ Gold album
Gadget: Black Macbook or pretty much any gadget or program (especially iWeb) created by the genius Steve Jobs and the geniuses working for him.

  • Nathan

Hot Chip – Made in the Dark CD
Beck – Odelay Deluxe Edition, great album gets the treatment it deserves.
