Woo-hoo! "ZEPPELIN CONFIRMED," according to the press release announcing this year’s Bonnaroo lineup. Makes sense that the long-rumored reunion tour might start at the June 12-15 music festival, especially since unlikely-but-terrific duet team Robert Plant and Alison Krauss (pictured) are already booked. Ah, but a closer look at the press release reveals that it’s Lez Zeppelin, the all-female Zep tribute band, not Led Zeppelin, that’s confirmed to perform in Manchester, Tenn. D’oh!
Still, looks like there’s something to please everyone in this year’s Bonnaroo lineup, from Kanye West to Pearl Jam, from Death Cab to Vampire Weekend, from Willie Nelson to B.B. King, from Metallica to Sigur Ros. There’s also a comedy tent, with Janeane Garofalo, Zach Galifianakis, and a nightly talk show hosted by the much-easier-to-spell David Cross. Tix go on sale Saturday exclusively at the Bonnaroo website.
So, how many of you are going? Who are you most looking forward to seeing? Think that, as long as Plant’s there, the real Led Zeppelin might show up anyway? Does anybody remember laughter?

I’m totally there. Last year was my first roo, and “unconventional” acts like metallica and kanye are great for the festival in my mind.
Classic rock means LED-ZEPPELIN!!! However, I fear they may be too old to put on a real rockin’ show…maybe. We’ll see.
“Does anybody remember laughter?” Classic.
This’ll make four years for me and I’m as excited as always. Looking forward to MMJ and Gogol Bordello.
glad to see that Umphrey’s McGee is back on the line up this year
Easily the best live band playing these days
The way you make it sound, the Bonnaroo promoters caused the media frenzy on purpose, thereby nearly giving my girlfriend two heart attacks (one when she heard they were playing, and one when she heard they weren’t). I mean, what idiot doesn’t know who Lez Zeppelin is?
Still, I am super-excited to see the Allman Brothers for the first time in a decade, plus Little Feat, Ozomatli, Sharon Jones, B B King, Willie Nelson, the Trucks/Tedeschi Soul Stew Revival and all the other great acts on the lineup, plus the many that haven’t even been announced yet!
If you know the “does anybody remember laughter” line, you’re proved your credentials as a Zep fan to me. Nice one.
I’m glad to see the positive responses on here. I’ve been to all the Roos except for the first and I’ve always had a blast. I love that they keep taking the festival in new directions every year. I’m most excited for Yonder Mt String Band, Gogol Bordello, Raconteurs, and Sigur Ros. And I can’t wait for the follow-up announcement to see who else they add!
My thoughts on the lineup can simply be summed up as…disappointing. Diveristy is good but the I would venture to say this is less diverse (adding a few heavy metal acts does not diversity make; there were already smaller rap and hip-hop acts at ‘Roo) than last years lineup and these headliners are definetly not justifying the regular ticket price increase. The last 2 years I have spent the extra money for VIP @ ‘Roo and felt it was well worth it but unless they bring back some techno acts for late night and at least another indie/rock/jam headliner into the mix I will be attending another festival this year.
“Has anybody seen the bridge?”
