Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 5
I think in that picture Helen Hunt just told someone that hideous hat was a gift, but in fact, she bought it for herself …
ummm … I bought “The Chipmunk Adventure” a couple of weeks ago and I make no apologies! The songs are catchy, the jokes are amusing (if not corny) and how can you resist the chipmunks and the chipettes (sp?) racing around the world in hot air balloons in a secret diamond smuggling orchestrated by the creepy (dare I say sexually involved?) brother and sister duo of Clause and Claudia MAN! … yeah … I think I am gonna watch it right now! *sigh* … on a side note … I am never getting laid again
Every time I admit I have the High School Musical DVD I always preface it with a long story about how I was studying abroad when the phenomenon premiered on Disney and when I came back it was everywhere and I had no idea what it was or why it was popular. So when I went to Virgin to stock up on some new music, the movie was playing on every screen so I just bought it right there to get it over with. Truth is: I’ve always loved Zac Efron from “Summerland” and I wasn’t going to wait for the video store to get back its only copy that had been MIA for 3 weeks.
Oh my gosh… the Chipmunk Adventures! I used to love that movie! But as for things I actually own, Muppets From Space and New Kids on the Block cds. And I actually paid full price for Bridget Jones Dvds and now I see them in stores for like $5. Sad…
I, too, love “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and have seen it more times than I can count.
As for pop-culture “gifts” . . . I used to buy every Oprah’s book club selection, but I was a little embarrassed to have ALL of them, so I lied and said my Mom bought them for me.
To Blue4U1980:
a) I saw that movie so many times as a kid, they should have just rereleased that instead of making that seemingly god-awful “Alvin and the Chipmunks” movie.
b) Again?
I love GJWTHF!!!! It’s been my favourite movie since I was a kid, and I wasnt even born when it came out!! just shows how good the movie is!! and to add a fave quote/part:
“Is it safe?”
“It’s the safest thing you’ll ever have between your legs?”
“what?”
“NOTHING!”
Girls Just Want to Have Fun? Are you kidding me? That’s a classic that I’m proud to own. Try the entire Mary-Kate and Ashley stright-to-video collection, from Passport to Paris through The Challenge (not to mention New York Minute.) Now THERE’S a collection that will forever be claimed as “gifts.”
I did the reverse lie, for both Josh Groban, Noël, and renting High School Musical. Both were “gifts for my neice.”
Center Stage on DVD
Ghost on DVD, because no matter how old I get, Unchained Melody is the most romantic song, ever.
Oh, and I harboured a slight crush for Patrick Swayze. . I mean. . what?
