Here’s something we haven’t done in a while: a PopWatch HeadScratcher:
What do these five movies have in common?
1983’s The Big Chill (with Glenn Close and Kevin Kline)
1989’s Shag (with Phoebe Cates and Bridget Fonda)
1993’s Rich in Love (with Ethan Hawke and Alfre Woodard)
2003’s Radio (with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Ed Harris)
2006’s Slither (with Nathan Fillion and Elizabeth Banks, pictured)
It’s not our primary objective to delay gratification on this one, so… the answer is after the jump. In the comments section, feel free to nominate other films which belong on this particular list, even candidates that only partially qualify. Enough hints. Good luck!
HeadScratcher answer: All these films are set in the great state of South Carolina, site of this week’s presidential primaries. Oh, and if you want us to continue to bring back HeadScratchers — or, if you don’t — let us know; your vote counts.

I have missed the Head Scratchers…I used to be really good at the music themed ones so I’m all for bringing those back.
Yes, do bring back Headscratchers – even though I usually end up cheating by visiting IMDB.com! And by my headscratcher count (checking back in your archives), shouldn’t this be No. 93?
Also, thanks for the Nathan Fillion photo accompaniment – yum.
Absolutely bring them back. I can never get them, and they usually bother me for days, but it gives me something to think about in American Lit
Yes, do bring the HeadScratchers back. I may not have known this one but I’m bound to know one eventually!
I’m not very good at the HeadScratchers, but I’m all for anything that puts more pictures of Nathan Fillion on PopWatch
Bring ‘em back! It made my day to see my name listed on the site… even though that was not a frequent occurence.
bring them back!!
Yes, please – bring back the HeadScratchers! I’m terrible at them, but enjoy them nonetheless.
Wasn’t “The Notebook” set in South Carolina? Or was that NC?

Bring ‘em back just for the sheer joy of getting a shout out when you answer cleverly.
Please, please bring back the Headscratchers! They were my favorite part of the weekend.
And I’d like to add “The Patriot” (2000), with Mel Gibson to your list of films set in South Carolina.
Oh Headscratchers – where have you been?
Bring ‘em back.
Prince of Tides, right?
btw, yearout, “The Patriot” also starred the late Heath Ledger.
Bring them back and give us the weekend again to figure them out.
Headscratchers seem pretty cool. It made me stop to click and read more
Oh, the much beloved and mucho be-deviling Headscratcher is back! Yippee! How about “Bastard out of Carolina”?
I love the Headscratchers…please make them a weekly entry like the Must List…this is more fun!!
Isn’t there a movie by novelist Pat Conroy about his college years at the Citadel? That’s in SC, right? I think it’s The Lords of Discipline.
How about “The Great Santini,” which was set in Beaufort, SC?
And let’s not forget the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Regiment’s suicide mission at Fort Wagner in “Glory”!
Bring back the Headscratchers! I didn’t realize how much I missed them till today.
Just wanted to say thank you for the Nathan Fillion photo. PopWatch should be mandated to include at least one Nathan pic each day.
“Conrack” with Jon Voight…and Rhett Butler was from Charleston!
Oh headscratchers, where oh where have you been? Don’t EVER leave me again!
Sleeping with the Enemy was shot in SC, not sure if they said it was SC in the movie, though. Who’s Your Caddy and That Darn Cat were also shot there.
I’d forgotten about HeadScratchers and now I realize how much I miss them. Yes, bring them back!!
i love shag! it is my ultimate girly guilty pleasure movie!
