I’m obsessed with this YouTube clip of miracle horse Numaany–who gets distracted by something on the outside rail, takes a hard right, comes to almost a complete stop, and still somehow wins this Nov. 7 race at Aqueduct Racetrack in New York. Yet while Numaany is eligible for the 2008 Kentucky Derby (he’s my early pick to win it…woot!), one place you won’t find him is on the Must List page in next week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly.
Poor Numaany, but lucky you, since you still have the opportunity to get your Must List pick into the next issue of EW. All you have to do is submit up to three suggestions for your favorite TV shows/albums/books/movies/video games/websites right now; be sure to post your ideas before 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, and make sure to include your email address (which we’ll need to contact you if your submission is chosen). Don’t say "neigh" (sorry!), just go to the comments section below and get into the race!

The Juno soundtrack is to die for. Catchy, enthusiastic and thankfully closes with Ellen Page and Michael Cera singing.
Torchwood DVD on the 22nd! Alians, time travel, saving the world, nifty gadgets, quippy one-liners and Captain Jack Harkness. Yum, Yum, Yum!
(I’m not sure what issue this Must List is going in so it might be a week early to promote, but it’s all I keep thinking about. AND, how could EW leave out the Season 2 premier on Jan 26th from this list of winter television. What’s up with that?)
-Another gem from hipster label, SubPop is Georgie James’ “Places”. The duo made an album full of catchy indie pop gems(“Look Me Up”, “Need Your Needs”, “More Lights”) you can’t stop listening to.
-As evident by a horribly low album chart debut (#15), Atlantic Records didn’t know how to promote Lupe Fiasco’s “The Cool”. However, it shouldn’t be overlooked. This semi-concept album a number of great songs. “Intruder Alert”, “Little Weapon” and “Go Go Gadget Flow” are only a few examples the great production and intricate storytelling that makes the album so “cool”.
1. A “Ready for Prime Time” Dexter on CBS (I can’t wait to see how they manage that).
2. 5150 Holds (I’ll need one if the Writer’s Strike doesn’t end soon).
3. Dr. Phil interventions (It’s because he really, really wants to help. It’s not for the publicity, mmmkay?).
PTI on ESPN – Michael Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser have a humorous slant on the days sports stories, especially with Clemens, BCS, NFL all going on right now. They are the best thing on ESPN.

Sweeney Todd!
And this brilliant idea – a movie called “Phonebook” in which Johnny Depp reads a phonebook and orders chinese takeout. See the trailer here

This must be made!
Thanks to Kizzay! from imdb.com
Laila Ali as co-cost of American Gladiators. She brings a nice balance to the Hulk’s hulking, but isn’t afraid to go after a contestant for getting her wet.
1. Sweeney Todd – favorite movie
2. House – favorite show
PS: I second the favorite idea for a movie – Phonebook. Check out the trailer on youtube.
I just want to throw in another submission for Phonebook starring Johnny Depp.

1. The Juno Soundtrack…can’t find it anywhere up here (in Calgary)
2. Kate Nash – Made of Bricks – a brillaint CD with hilarious lyrics and great songs
3. Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story – This hilarious movie has been overlooked by movie-goers in the holdiay season. It is funnier then Superbad and Knocked Up (at least I think it is).
1 – the full Sweeney Todd soundtrack – almost as much wicked fun as watching the movie again. Though if you haven’t seen the movie yet, you might think ‘gee, why is Jack Sparrow so angry?’
2 – Steve Martin’s book, Born Standing Up. Who knew the backstory for “ex-cuuuuse me!” and an arrow through the head could be so smart and compelling?
3 – Turner Classic Movies – my strike survival plan. When there’s absolutely nothing else on TV, I can always get engrossed in whatever’s playing on TCM.
Law and Order is back and with a kick ass cast.
Cashmere Mafia – with not much left on TV these days, it deserves a nod for a great new mid-season show
American Gladiators – takes me back to my childhood, welcome back!

Sweeney Todd – brilliant
Eastern Promises – gets ignored, but it was an excellent flick.
And that Phonebook thing – that teaser is genius. I’d see that.
Speed Racer trailer- Ah sweet childhood memories.
The Evil Kneival Story on the History Channel- That guy was literally insane.
Clarkandmichael.com- Better than the majority of what’s on t.v. these days.
Best CD…Sara Bareilles’ “Little Voice”
Sara is this year’s female singer/songwriter phenom! A gifted piano player with vocals to match. If you don’t have this cd…what are you waiting for?!?! RUN, don’t walk.
Best Movie…Juno
Ok. I’m more than slightly obsessed with this movie..but who wouldn’t be? An amazing script by Diablo Cody gives all of the actors, namely Ellen Page, sublime material for them to completely emerse themselves in. And they do it exquisitely!!
1. The Wire on HBO
2. Intervention on A&E
– LOST’s interactive “Find 815″ online game – it’s even better than “The Lost Experience”, IMO.
– All 3 seasons of LOST are now free and in HD on ABC.com – and holy frak, do they look good!
– Kyle XY Season 2.5 on ABC Family – Finally, some new worthwhile television in the middle of this never-ending strike.
Friday Night Lights. We know it’s nothing new, and maybe I missed it on the Must List before, but perhaps a shirtless Taylor Kitsch will fire up a few DVR’s?
Sweeney Todd –amazing
and secondly, the Phonebook idea is brilliant and should somehow be created–I’d watch it.

Taylor Kitsch on Friday Night Lights. Doing a brilliant job at turning what could be a brooding pretty-boy role into a multifaceted character. (Also a testament to the amazing writing on the show.)
Medium is back on Monday nights!
BBC America’s show Top Gear. I don’t even own a car, yet I find this show about cars absofrickinglutely hilarious.
bourdain is back! no reservations is full of wit and perspective. and it always gets me thinking “i could do that!”
the gladiators on american gladiators! titans bod, toa’s tattoos, fury’s hair, it’s amazing.
The weekly FREE downloads at the iTunes store which in the past year have included “Bubbly” (Colbie Caillat), “Love Song” (Sara Bareilles) and “You Know I’m No Good” (Amy Winehouse). (Not to mention good stuff from A Fine Frenzy, Sara Groves and Rissi Palmer!)
I’m turning red from embarrassment as I write this but..Season 1 of Knots Landing on DVD.
