it looks like it might be funny. I laughed out loud at the whale throw. now if they have more moments like that in the movie it will pull in the knocked up, borat, 40 year old virgin crowd that likes slap stick style movies. i mean hey scary movie still makes money
I’m hoping that the movie isn’t quite as dry as the trailer (maybe it’s the Ludacris music that is confusing me – clearly they’re targeting an urban audience here as opposed to the comic book/superhero geek audience) but I think the concept is kind of funny. And frankly as others have said Jason Bateman is more of a draw for me than Will Smith is anyway. I’d at least rent it.
That does not look bad at all. Remember the trailer for Hitch? Now, that looked bad (granted, it had Kevin James…dancing). And who knew that Hitch wouldn’t be so bad? This could be pretty decent too.

Maybe Hitch wasn’t THAT bad, but it certainly wasn’t good. This looks as bad, if not worse, than Wild Wild West.
I love Will Smith to the point of being unhealthy, but this just doesn’t look appealing to me. I’ll probably end up seeing it anyway, although it definitely won’t be a rush to see it on opening weekend like some of his other movies. Surely the reviews will be awful, but Will Smith will probably escape unscathed. It does look kind of crappy though in a I-just-did-it-for-the-paycheck kind of way.
For some strange reason, I just about wet myself laughing at this one. I don’t normally go for stupid humor, but I think I’ll enjoy this (assuming I’m in the right frame of mind when I watch it).
