I like fonts as much as the next guy. I use ‘em every day, even if I knee-jerk back to dear old Courier a little too often. But this here video reveals Hollywood’s deepest, darkest font obsession.

Font geeks unite! I’m a graphic designer, and rarely use Trajan (I prefer Adobe Garamond). However, it’s a classic font and obviously does its best to lend credibility to the films it promotes. There are so many beautiful sans serifs out there (Gotham, Avenir, Franklin Gothic, Paralucent) I’m surprised they seem to be reserved for stupid comedies. Glad to see the video makes Comic Sans the butt of a joke (one of the worst fonts ever, along with Arial).
Also a graphic designer and that was GREAT. Fonts & movies, my two favorite things in life:)
That was fantastic. I’m officially deleting Trajan out of my Suitcase in the morning.
And the runner up for most over-used font is…Ablefont (aka, the “Harry Potter” font) – seriously, that stuff is used everywhere too (It’s like Trajan on happy pills – a little less self-serious, what with it’s disjointed letter-lengths).
