Could Janet Jackson have the comeback story of 2008? She certainly has my vote based on her new single, "Feedback," which was released to radio last week. Breathy with a propulsive beat, it’s exactly how I like my Jsquared. I only hope the marketing of this album involves her keepin’ her clothes on. We get it Janet: You’re proud of your body. Your weight fluctuates. But, you’re like 40 now and it’s time to cover up. I’m not talking muumuus; just a little less bust, and a little more bustin’ a move would be nice. What think you, PopWatchers? Listen to the embedded clip, after the jump, and then give your feedback about "Feedback."

Not her greatest song, but damn catchy. She so deserves to go back on top. but I have to agree, with some clothes on!! !!Take a look at the new promo picture, perfect!!!
The problem w/ JJ is that she sounds like Britney with all the voice filtering.
Showing some skin is her MO and there’s nothing wrong with it, but at 40 shouldn’t she be in a different arena — like acting? or producing? or even a charitable give-back?
The production is what gives that tune its bounce, because let’s face it any light weight singer can do what she does.
Not the best, but even sub-par Janet is better than Britney
Not the best Janet track, but light-years better than her previous ones. I love Janet as much as the next guy, but I do think the overt sexuality is getting a little old. Also, I would love a little more social commentary from her which we haven’t seen since the “Rhythm Nation” years. She is a decent pop-song writer so a little more depth would be appreciated.

Love the song (although I’m confused as to how, exactly, Janet has “Asian persuasion.”) Here’s to hoping that Janet doesn’t muddle the rest of “Discipline” down with the warmed-over, easy listening/pillow-talk inertia that plagued “20 Y.O.” and “Damita Jo.” If we can’t have the sheer brilliance and depth of “The Velvet Rope” or genre-defining R&B zeniths like “janet.,” “Rhythm Nation” or “Control,” I’ll take the pure pop (and, radio-friendliness) of “All For You” any day.
Fantastic… Janet’s best single since All For You, I think. Deserves to do amazingly well.
Finally! A Janet Jackson song with a catchy tune! It actually sounds like a song instead of a breathy voice set to a electronic beat which dominated her last 3 albums. I miss the pop/dance perfection she created with Control, Rhythm Nation and janet. Hopefully, the disappointing sales of everything after that has finally awaken her to the fact the her fans want to hear her voice to songs that will stick in their head and they can dance or sing to.
sweet! sooo much better than anything I’ve heard from her in a long time.
THIS SONG IS HOT!! FORGET THAT HAS-BEEN WHO CONSTANTLY LEAVES THE HOUSE W/O UNDERWEAR, JANET OWNS HOT DANCE POP! COMEBACK 2008!!
I love it almost as much as this kid!
This is banging. I found it online and downloaded it just to hear it in my car and DAMN! (And I never download-Really!) This is pretty close to what I’ve been waiting for from Janet. She finally has people around her talking some sense to her after the last 2 fiascos (JD anyone)! I love me some breasteses but it’s time for Janet to be more subtle, mysterious even, with her body. Tease me. I todays instant video age, we’ve seen and heard it all. Janet should go in the opposite direction. Love the new promo photo and art work. Please let this be the comeback we are praying for so she can tour again. “Feedback” is a winner!!!!!!
Love the beat, love the drums….but it almost sounds like a girl group singing and not one person…but otherwise, good dance beat.
The song is fierce! Much better than any of her recent efforts, and it deserves to be a big hit. Ditto to Sally in Chicago about the girl group; I thought the exact same thing the first time I heard it too.
GREAT track Janet!! She did what she has always done, and that’s bring white hot FIRE to radio and the clubs. Perfect for the coming party season. Nice album title too. I absolutely think we all need more ‘Discipline’.
This is the kind of single that should propel Janet back to the top of the charts. I hope this new cd is full of great dance singles like this one. I’ve been listening to the song since it was leaked online and I can’t get it out of my head. And I do agree with the writer of the article. I love Janet, think she is sexy but I would love to see her focus on the music and dancing….we know she’s got a slammin’ body, now lets see some of those famous dance moves that put you in the lime light, Janet!
Love the song, love the body, love the topless poses. If you got it, flaunt it, and shes got it in spades.
This song is so so hot! Out of everyone coming out in 2008 Janet definitely deserves to come out on top. With the help of L.A. Ms. Jackson is sure to reclaim her throne as the Queen of Pop.
BEST Janet song since ALL FOR YOU. I hope this is a sign of what the rest of her album will be. She MUST know now we want the Dance heavy Janet CD back! This could be huge as long as radio will play a song from a female over 18.
I love this song. I didn’t know she was singing on this. WOW!
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!
This song is amazing!! i love it, i have had it on repeat since it was leaked onto the net. The sound IS very now but very “Janet”, when she went another direction everyone was like “we want classic janet”. Well she gave it to us this time, this song deserves to be #1. Oh and Janet IS in other arenas of entertainment, lets not forget she was just in a #1 movie with Tyler Perry. And she has always supported various charities, so thats not something she should be getting into, she has always done it.
I love this song. I’m so glad that she released this as a first single. Sexuality doesn’t end when you hit your 40’s Mr. Stack. If you were a woman and had a body at that age you would flaunt it too. Go Janet! You will rule the charts in 2008.
Me likes it … Janet is doing the damn thing. This is a good look.
I was wondering when you guys were going to comment on this. Love, love, LOVE the new JSquared! The sound is contemporary enough to fit in comfortably on mainstream radio, yet it’s still quintessentially Janet. No one can put down a dance stomper like her and I’m rooting for a huge comeback in ‘08.
BTW, RayT, the “Asian persuasion” in the intro is a nod to all ethnicities who find her to be the hotness.
Janet is BACK ladies and Gentlemen!
Janet is back bringin the heat love ya J.
Finally..the Janet, upbeat, catchy song we have been waiting for. Hope this is a hit for her and she will be back on tour in 2008.
This song is “sexy, sexy, sexy.” If I can’t get enough of this song, I can’t get enough of JANET! Janet is infectious once again!
