So Billboard just released all of its year-end music charts. The strain on your eyes will hurt so good. Trust me.
Daughtry (featuring Chris D., pictured) had the top-selling album, with roughly 3.2 million copies sold. (That’s 500K short of last year’s top album, the High School Musical soundtrack, for those of you keeping score.) It’s always the other categories that I find fascinating:
• Tom and Jerry’s Greatest Chases is No. 2 on the Top TV DVD sales chart. That’s behind High School Musical: Encore Edition and BEFORE The Office: Season One.
• Kenny G’s Greatest Holiday Classics album is No. 21 on the R&B Catalog chart.
(The Best of Keith Sweat: Make You Sweat is No. 11.)
What’s the weirdest or funniest anomaly, à la those above, that you can find amid these charts?

If they had waited until Dec. 31, I’m sure Josh Groban will have Daughtry beat.
The ringtones chart is pretty funny. It’s mostly current R&B, but mixed into the top 10 are Buckcherry, Nickelback, the Pink Panther theme, and “Because I Got High.”
So many truly good CD’s miss the mainstram radar which is a real shame.
Barley a peep over Robin Guthrie’s new CD’s (ex Cocteau Twin member) “After the Night Falls” and “Before the Sun Rises” pure ambient bliss.

On the year-end Hot 100, I was very surprised to see Gwen Stefani finish at #3 with “The Sweet Escape,” while Kanye West finished the year at #27 with “Stronger.” Obviously, it’s because the former lingered around in the Top 10 for so long…
