I used to love her but (and granted I don’t know her) she seems awfully pleased with herself to the point that she comes across as smug. Although I think it’s refreshing to see her try to live a normal life with her family. She’s in love with herself (who isn’t though?)
But because of My Best Friends Wedding and Steel Magnolias, I cannot go all out and say I don’t like her.
Another “meh” for her acting. She’s like Tom Cruise/Hanks to me; she is too distinctive to truly dissappear into a role, so I can’t buy what she’s selling. However, she gained a lot of points with me when she opened the whoop-@ss on that paparrazzo the other day. That was awesome!
Hated Julia Roberts for years until I saw “My Best Friend’s Wedding.” And then she totally shined in “Erin Brockovich.” I think that she is a good actress, and very deserving of any award she receives.
And Cyn – Julia Roberts left Kiefer Sutherland because he was cheating on her with a stripper. She found out a few days before she was to marry him…. so I like to think that her running off with Jason Patric could be slightly understandable and defintely something to forgive her for.
She’s a good actress, but there’s something about her that just gets under my skin. She’s a dealbreaker when it comes to choosing movies for me. Much as I like Tom Hanks, I might skip “Charlie Wilson’s War” because she and a horrible Flo hairdo are in it.
I loved the tribute to all her swearing in movies. I forgot what a potty mouth she has – LOVE it!
I am soooo glad to see others that can’t stand her. I was thrilled to see that she wasn’t in Ocean’s 13, means I didn’t have to fast forward throught any parts. I just wish she and her k-fraud husband would just go away, far far far away.
I feel like there must be SOMETHING to her if Lyle Lovett married, her but meh, overrated and she assaulted Denzel Washington on stage at the Oscars (bad form!)
Your comments on what she is like personally and her acting abilities is your perception. There are many other people that think the exact oppisite of her. They obviously have better things to do than comment on this site. I think she is a great actress. More than capable. You guys just can’t get over your ridiculous hatred for her, in my opinion because, you think she is full of herself. If you think I have bad taste in actors I also like Kate Winslet, Cate Blanchett, Rachel Weiz, Rachel McAdams, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Connelly, Johnny Depp, Nic Cage, Casey Affleck, John Cusack.
codi – you are not helping your case here when you give us all the evidence we need to say “You have bad taste in actors”
(:|) blame Canada!
