Sugarland and Little Big Town are both fantastic. Props to EW for covering the country music scene!!!!
Been rooting for J.Net ever since Soulminer’s Daughter!!!
I just want to thank you for supporting SugarLand. They are truly one of the best acts live to see today. Jenn and Kristian are such wonderful people and deserve all of thier success. If you like christmas music you have to go out and buy their deluxe additon album at walmart. There are 5 great christmas songs including an original. Oh and the new song that they are performing is called Fall Into Me.
Thanks Again
Okay, I wasn’t going to comment here because I kind of totally hate “Stay”. But Sugarland seems like nice people and “Settling” always seems to come on the radio when I am contemplating my social life, (which either means the airwaves are connecting directly to my psyche, or I’m over-focusing) so I guess I can give them a break on one song.
Oh, and welcome back Ms. P!
The New song was called “Fall Into Me” and I would love to hear your take on the next Sugarland album!!! You had a great down to earth review that I mostly agreed with (but I’m a Sugarland junkie so thats a HUGE compliment) it was nice to read a NY review by a pro that wasn’t scathing country for well.. being country in NYC
Whitney, thank you (and Kristin) for your insightful and delightful reviews of the Sugarland/LBT/Jake Owen show at Nokia Live. We believe they’re one of the most talented bands out there – across all genres – and they’re still making REAL music, not loops and samples and pre-packaged stuff. Can’t wait to hear your review of the new CD in 2008!
Thanks for the detailed review. I am totally with you on the small venue vs large venue with sideshow issue. That voice is an instrument. Play it and and forget the pyrotechnics.
Did any see or hear anything about the Sugarland show on 12/7/07 in Youngstown? Took my family to this show after seeing Sugarland last year open for Brooks & Dunn. Nettles was AMAZING – really great stage presence, etc. However, during the 12/7 show as part of the CMT Tour with Owens and Little Big Town, Nettles sounded terrible, looked terrible, and seriously appeared to be intoxicated(?) Any comments would be appreciated. I had a 10 and 17 yr old daughters with me, and it is the first time I’ve ever walked out of a concert. Performance by Nettles was downright disgusting.
If you like sugarland you should come and check out NYC’s own Cooper Boone at The Cutting Room this thurs April 10th at 9:30pm
i went to the youngstown concert on 12/7/07 i yelled the whole time i liked the confetti stuff the orange and green stuff
