I’ll back up the producers on their editing choices. The fact that so many people have strong feelings about certain kids shows they did it right. You can’t try and shove 40 kids in front of a camera generate that kind of feeling. You pick the ones that evoke those types of feelings. It’s called casting.
This is the only new show from the Fall Season I’m watching and I love every episode! CBS better renew this show!!!!
Thank you, DanOregon! I’m convinced that we haven’t met all of the kids yet because, well, they just haven’t all necessarily been interesting. And the producers gotta focus on the interesting stuff, which consists of different players each week.
Also, trying to introduce all 40 kids to us at the beginning would have been a pointless jumble of meaningless faces, many of whom would have been forgotten by the time they finally did something noteworthy, say, 8 episodes in.
Olivia has turned out to be a cold, heartless witch. She takes every opportunity to insult and belittle Anjay, and then she has the nerve to call herself a good person? She’s a bully!
@AJ: I have noticed this about Greg several times now. He picks up the young girls, hugs them, carries them around. But let’s assume the best and believe he’s playing the big brotherly role. I don’t get the perv vibe off of him at all.
Alynda, if you don’t like change for change’s sake, you shouldn’t like Guylan.
As far as the introduction of new kids, they pop in when they are important to the events taking place. Just like any scripted drama. I don’t see anything wrong with it. We can’t expect to meet all 40 all at once. Besides, half of them haven’t proven to be very interesting anyway. I think the pacing and timing of Kid Nation has been just right. (considering the number of episodes they have to show)
I think that a motivating factor for the 4 kids who have thrown their hat into the ring to challenge the town council is that they all already have gold stars so they are ready to step up to the plate without loosing the chance to win the cash. On the otherhand, no one on the current council except Zach has won a star so they should welcome the chance to sit on the opposite side of the table and have a chance at $20,000.
I think everyone who is challenging their current council members will make for an interesting change to watch and could do a gret job except for Greg. Too hot-headed.
Also, am I the only one who was not in love with Laurel’s leadership skills? I think she is phony and behaving not all that differently then how Taylor acted when she was on the council in last nights episode?
First of all, I think Greg is just trying to be an older brother figure to the younger kids. I don’t think it’s fair to assume that he has any bad intentions.
Also, it was great to see Blaine finally get recognized, both by the council and by the cameras. He’s been in Greg’s shadow for the entire series so far. He always worked just as hard as Greg, but because he wasn’t mean and rude, the cameras never focused on him. I’m glad he’s finally getting to shine away from Greg, and judging by his comments, Blaine seems happy to be away from Greg as well.
I don’t know what Olivia’s problem is, but she seems really immature. She may not like Anjay, but the way she treats him is not respectful at all.
I think all the council members are in trouble with the elections. I think it will be interesting to have Greg and Blaine both on the council.
Alynda: I loved your commentary. The only thing I want to add is I think that Randi was the third kid to leave Bonanza City. There was an eight-year-old kid who left during the first episode, because he thought he was too young to be out there without his family. Then there was the root beer swilling kid who left, because he missed his girlfriend. Randi was the third kid to leave BC.
why not a school
if kids rule to prove thire hearts and strath why can’t people hear them. if you were out in the world to prove a piont souldent every one hear, not jest the people how are their but all in the earth. if the show is on ouly ones a week at church hour.
kids are what makes our world

Why didnt they just pulls names from a hat or something, that would be the fair thing to do.
Is Taylor’s head shaped like Tweety Birds? It seems to me she if she had a trunk she could be out making a living tearing down trees in jungle somewhere.
