I realize I’m only a blog post or two away from you PopWatchers forming a union and demanding wages for all the brainstorming work you’ve done on our upcoming "Entertainers of the Year" issue, but I’ve got one more subject I’d like you to dish: My colleague Annie Barrett and I are working on a story on the year’s 10 best viral videos, and we’re struggling to narrow down our list. That legendary performance of "Thriller" by the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in the Philippines (below) seems like a shoo-in, but what else deserves to make the cut? The drumming gorilla? The dancing cockatoo? That toddler landlord swearing at Will Ferrell? There are so many clips to choose from, that, to paraphrase Velma Kelly in Chicago, we simply cannot do it alone. So give us your picks in the comments section below, and thanks in advance for your sage advice!

Pearl! Definitely Pearl, the hilarious landlord toddler.
As someone who really needs a strong motivation to watch viral videos, I would say the ones even I had to see must have been pretty huge. So, Prisoners doing “Thriller,” Dancing Cockatoo, Baby Landlord, Drumming Gorilla, yes. Also, Andy Samberg’s “I Ran” and Homestar Runner’s “Teen Girl Squad” which is incredibly popular around here.
1. Pearl
2. Alanis Morrisette singing “My Humps”
3. Basically anything from FunnyorDie.com
I loved all the ones mentioned so far. There is also Dramatic Chipmunk. My favorite though was probably the “PG” trailer for 300: http://youtube.com/watch?v=DxvABFWLacw “BRUSH YOUR TEETH!!”
That 7-second clip of the cute furry animal with the Dant-dant-dannnnnnnnnnnnnnnhhhhhh music.
Over/under on someone using this forum to promote their own obscure lame video: 10 more comments. I’m betting under.
chocolate rain
“Chocolate Rain”.
/thread.
“One Semester of Spanish” Spanish Love Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngRq82c8Baw
You got to give it up for Obama Girl…
1. Werewolf Barmitzvah
2. Chocolate Rain
3. Crank that Solja Boy mash-ups
4. The cranky landlady
5. The KidRock/Tommy fight
6. Miss South Carolina speech
Pearl for sure. The Thriller video. And Chocolate Rain is a must. And the dramatic ground hog is a definite.
Definitely SNL/Samberg’s “I Ran.” That was hilarious and I can’t believe it didn’t make the “funniest SNL music skits” gallery that EW put together.
Uh, hello? Have you forgotten about me already?
Totally have to go with Pearl, the dramatic Praire Dog, Alanis singing My Humps, and Chocolate rain!
