I’m 20, and after seeing him for the first time in 1999, I’ve been obsessed ever since! I too have been checking the set lists daily, and am eagerly awaiting November 12th, with four (4!) floor seats. Hellllll yeah. Hope he plays a River rarity (and maybe even some Thunder Road!)
I’m seeing Bruce in about 10 days and I’ve been checking the setlists every night (even reading the real-time threads on Greasy Lake during the concerts). I did the same for U2 in 2005. Yes it takes away some of the surprise, but then again, I probably shouldn’t be downloading all the bootlegs that I can get my hands on either. I just hope he plays Jungleland.
FYI — interesting blog post on Philly.com that Clear Channel will not allow Bruce’s new album to be played on their stations. Anyone notice this?
I’m no fan of Clear Channel, but isn’t saying that their stations can’t play new Bruce Springsteen sort of the same as Wal-Mart saying that they won’t sell Betamax tapes? When was the last time that new Springsteen actually got played on the air?
Great post. I am an unabashed setlist watcher…even though it kills the surprise a bit, I can not resist KNOWING.
But unless you’re seeing multiple shows, even the most “standard” setlist will have a number of songs you’ve never heard, because of Magic. And no sane person could be dissatisfied with any Bruce Springsteen show.
