As cheesy as it may sound, I think the marketing folks need to get the entire gorgeous cast lined up with a GAP promotion. That would get people noticing them and asking who they are. Dammit.
And then the PR folks need to get the actors interviewed by all the right Web sites and publications. And, of course, advertise the hell out of it.

Not only is FNL the best show on TV right now, but it's the first show in years (since "Freaks and Geeks" or "My So-Called Life") that has actually depicted high school kids and their parents in a realistic and compelling way. Sure, there have been moments this season where I've been less than thrilled (the body dumping, the nurse massage), but I've been able to overlook them because everything else rings so true. The superb acting, the relationships, the characters, the heartache -- this is as raw and as real as it gets people. NBC needs to realize what a gem they have here and put FNL in a worthy timeslot. This show has a fighting spirit that mirrors that of it's very own Panthers -- but it needs the fans' support, and the time has come for the NBC execs to start showing their Panther Pride.

To Hannah: Tyra did report the attack to the cops last season, but only after Landry and Tammy talked her into it. I love this show and have no problems with the plot developments this season. I have no problem with Tyra and Landry's relationship. It evolved naturally from last season, when he was tutoring her for algebra. I'm just not crazy about the attack and murder. I hope they resolve that story quickly, because it's too daytime drama and doesn't belong on such a subtle, nuanced show. I had no problem with the relationship between Saracen and the home care worker during their first scene, when he asked her to do his laundry, and she put him in his place and said, "I'm not the maid." That was a great scene, which is why I found it jarring when she gave him a massage later. Talk about mixed messages!

I think that Tim may have flunked earlier. It is possible that last season, he was the age of a junior (I believe that someon said he was 16-17), BUT in the episode where he gets tutored by Landry, Tami asks how he did on the Scarlet Letter Report, stating that Julie was "up all night with that one". SO it is possible that Tim failed previously, and is a junior this year, being a 19 year old senior.

I don't think that the Matt Carlotta plotline is going to go into O.C. Dawson's territory.
I was REALLY worried about the Tim Riggins/older woman plotline last season, and that could have been considered cliche, but it didn't turn out that way.
Same thing with all the other stereotypes they put on this show, the cheerleader, the slut, the paralyzed quarterback, the steroids, the racism, the small quarterback who wins state for the team, etc. But it always turned out well.

I love this show. I love Landry and Tyra together. Its nice to see her with a nice guy rather than someone who just wants to get her into bed. He makes her respect herself. I think there are a lot of good stories that can come out of this show. It has great potential. Since Friday is a dead night usually for TV I am glad they put this on so I actually have something good to watch. I hope NBC continues to give this show the chance it deserves.

The new time slot is pretty condesending-A show with Friday in the title, has to be aired on Fridays? Even though Fri. & Sat. nights are considered the "graveyard" for TV shows, lest we forget that the original "CSI" initially aired on Fridays at 9 (EST). It's lead in (the brilliant Tim Daly remake of "The Fugitive"), didn't even last till mid-season. Crime solvers (no matter how far fetched the writing is) sex, celebrities dancing, Doctors in love & lust, sh*tcoms (that are neither funny or original), these shows top the ratings. You can't force quality on viewers, although I'd love to. Kudos to (former NBC programming chief) Kevin Reilly for giving FNL, Office, Earl, & 30 Rock a renewal. Now, Mr. Silverman, please use your Bravo network and re-run these shows late nights. NOT ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON MARATHONS! Just a thought, but FNL in "ER's 10 PM Thursday slot might prove to be a winning move. Let(dying) ER do battle on Fridays.

I love this show and just became a fan after powering through season one DVDs. Unfortunately, it wont be the first time a truly great show (Arrested Development anyone?) falls through the cracks of the mediocre tastes of most TV viewers (According to Jim - PUHHLEASE!).
If nothing else, the Emmy's should give a nod to this engaging drama.

I'm doing the same as most of you folks: telling everyone I know that they HAVE to watch this show! FNL is the best show ever; the writing, acting, editing, casting--all perfection. I totally buy the Landry/Tryra connection, btw. One commenter noted that Tyra had never been respected by her other boyfriends and another said that a sense of humor goes a long way. Very true on both counts, and I think that's why Tyra finally "got it" about Landry. I loved the way she told his dad that he should know how great his son is. Can hardly wait for the confrontation when Coach Taylor comes back and replaces the new, horribly mean coach! The scenes between Riggins and Street were terrific.

There is no doubt that this is the best show on TV. I think the majority of the American public is just not interested in true quality, if they have to work a little for it. They'd rather take the easy wasy out with mindless shows like The Women's Murder Cloub.
My 17-year old daughter didn't watch first season, so I gave her the dvd's. She, too, is floored by how good it is, and she's a girl who hates football in real life.
Ken Tucker, can you please get the EW Gods to let you turn this into a regular TV Watch? Please??
