So X-Men Origins: Wolverine, starring Hugh Jackman (and possibly Liev Schreiber as a younger version of Brian Cox’s William Stryker), will hit theaters May 1, 2009. Three questions:
1) When do you allow yourself to get excited?
2) What advice would you like to give director Gavin Hood (Rendition) before shooting begins later this year?, and
3) Are the Heroes: Origins people pissed that Wolvie stole their, um, Origins?

Question, if this is Wolverine orgins and they will have a younger Stryker and a younger Sabertooth, how will it look with Hugh Jackman looking old?
Horrible, horrible title. They should just keep it as Wolverine, I think people will know what they’re talking about, especially after seeing Hugh Jackman. Jackman won’t screw it up, but since I HATED X-Men 3, I’m going to wait until I see a trailer before I get too excited.
Cindy,
Wolverine’s healing ability slows down his aging process. If I’m not mistaken, in the comics he was born in the 1920’s or 1930’s. He was fighting along side Captain America during WWII. Also, I don’t think that alot of people are going to care about that as long as the movie’s interesting.
I’m with you Torin I’ll wait until I start seeing promos to make up my mind.
Mmmm, Hugh Jackman in muttonchops again. *sigh* Trailers are made so that any movie can look awesome so I’m not sure that’s a good way to gauge the film itself. I’m sure I’ll see it – if not at the theater then def. on my couch! Hope he has a shirtless scene again . . .
The character of Wolverine is over 80 years old.
Uh, the second they confirm Liev Schreiber is the second I get excited.
If anything, Heroes stole the “Origins” title from Wolverine. The long awaited origin of Wolverine was told a couple of years ago in a comic by the same name. It seems logical to use that title for a movie that deals with the same subject matter. In any case, do I allow myself to get excited? Not after the mess that was X-Men 3. I’ll watch Wolverine, but I’ll have low expectations going into the movie.
As long as Wolverine (Hugh!) is without a shirt in at least 60% of the film, I’ll be a happy little camper!
BTW, anyone see him in Viva Laughlin last night? Sizzling! Wooo!
YES! I can’t wait for this to come out! How about I’m so psyched for this movie that you can expect to see me waiting in line outside the cineplex tonight. Okay, maybe not THAT excited.
So um, Popwatch Genie, please grant my wish and film the Wolverine-Hulk fight that was done in Hulk 181. You gave me Patrick Stewart as Prof. X and cancelled Lucky Louie, no please, with sugar on top, give us the showdown us Wolvie fans have been dying to see!
I’m so pysched for this movie! My azz is such a Wolverine fan that I even bought a condo on “Logan’s Circle” and got those “movie prop” claws to use for a halloween costume a few years back. Beat that, bub.
Ep “I want to be wolverine” Sato: PLEASE, I NEED to see a hot Wolverine stick puppet 2day!
This movie better be R rated or else it is going to stink.
Please let Brett Ratner be too busy to direct this! Come on Hollywood, sign him up for Rush Hour 4 or 5, Money Talks 2, anything, just keep him away from Wolverine.
It should stay as Wolverine unless this is going to be a series of flims. Ie: Exploring the origin of Storm, Cylclops, ShadowCat,etc.
Please don’t let this be another Catwoman.
My advice to Gavin Hood would be to not make this movie as bad as he made Rendition.
I mean, that suckfest went on for 2+ hours and the only remotely interesting thing about it happened when there was a momentary glitch in one of the reels, which wasn’t even really part of the movie just a problem in the theater.
