Trailer Blazer: 'Love in the Time of Cholera'

I’ve absolutely no familiarity with the Gabriel Garcia Marquez novel that this Javier Bardem flick is based on. Read the full post.

Is it necessary to make uneducated comments about this fantastic, timeless writer just because you don’t like the trailer of this movie? When you win a Nobel prize for writing, you will be in a position to belittle that incredible achievement and not before then. I am always surprised that EW employs “professional writers” who appear to never have read a piece of literature.

Original song by Shakira? “Hips don’t lie”? “Whenever, wherever”? Oh no. Oh. No.
Doesn’t anyone here remember the AWFUL version of “Like Water for Chocolate” directed by the author’s now ex-husband,Alfonso Arau? ANYONE?

Mark – why waste people’s time by commenting on something when you have no idea about it? Knobhead. It’s just lazy.

Wow, I can’t believe people are so closed-minded about Shakira’s contributions to this film. If you’ve only heard her top English hits, you really should hold your comments until you do your homework. She has been around for over a decade, writing her own music and succeeding on her own terms. She has recorded a very wide range of work, including beautiful romantic ballads. She also happens to be a close friend of G.G. Marquez. Oh yeah, she also has a 140 IQ, and donates tons of money to humanitarian causes. But I guess that’s not important to someone who’s only capable of noticing her T&A.

I just finished reading this book last night, and really enjoyed it. The movie trailer took me by surprise because it seemed to be advertising a love story, which is not how I would describe the book. I hate when a movie goes way off track from the novel it was adapted from, I hope this will not be the case with this one.
