Just watched it last night and I only thought it was so-so. I like Christina and think she is funny but it felt a little forced and flat for me. But it is only the pilot so I will give it a couple more viewings before making the final decision. I too love Jean Smart but will grow very tired, very quickly if they don’t do something to Jennifer E’s character.
Finally watched this last night and loved it! Well, all except for the doorman. As expected, Jean Smart was brilliant. I’ll definitely keep watching.
I landed on this show accidentally, didn’t expect to like it (don’t watch sitcoms much since demise of Seinfeld), but very surprised, found myself laughing out loud, thought Christina A. was brilliant, her comic timing is amazing. I’ll be watching again next week.
As for those comparing her to Jennifer A/Rachel, no way, she’s a 1-note actress, just a lot of tight tshirts and “Oh Ross” or “Oh Monica”, most eps, JA wishes she had the comedic chops CA does.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this show!! Maybe it will make up for What About Brian being cancelled.
In reply to Donald, I’m glad that I’m not the only one that isn’t feeling John Larroquette on Boston Legal. It seems like he’s playing nothing more than a walking plot advancement.
i will watch this show for melissa mcCarthy- just amazing and hope this series will be as good for her as Gilmore was.
WHERE IS THIS WEEK’S RECAP???? THERE ARE 15 MILLION VIEWERS OUT HERE!!!!
I liked the premise and find myself laughing out loud at Samantha’s boozy friend. But am I the only one to find the good character annoying? I find myself fast forwarding on her whiny revelations to get to the other characters.
she cracked me up this week when she made her assistant have a birthday party and ordered her to eat two slices of cake, then was quickly informed that her assistant has diabetes. hilarious.
Whats the song on Samantha Who that goes “I’m a scientiest….”?
This song was played when Samantha was talking to her doorman right before she was being picked up by her mom. Sounded like an 80s song
“i am a scientist…” i believe is a Graham Parker song from the 80′s, the album was called “Another Gray Area”….??
I was enjoying the show until Samantha absolutely snapped at a Chinese woman who was asking for her jacket, telling her that she may be late for work but her street corner will still be there.
Talk about racism! There was nothing, absolutely nothing about the poor woman to indicate that she was a prostitute. She was dressed like the rest of the crowd, what did she do to deserve a comment like that? All she wanted was a jacket. We can only assume Samantha made that comment on the basis of her features. This infuriates me – it implies that all Chinese-looking women are prostitutes – CAN THIS SHOW GET ANY LOWER? Making jokes at the expense of a minority group in America in order to gain higher ratings is simply disgusting.
What is the song that Samantha was dancing to when she was in the apartment alone? (Or thought she was alone)
