Spot Inspection: What’s your current obsession?
Mine is cowboys. I know this because:
(1) I just spent three days at the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut watching the PBR (that’s Professional Bull Riders), and returned home with: the 2008 "Cowboy Hunks" calendar; photos of myself with seven of the sport’s finest (including top-ranked Justin McBride, who, this just in, sings!*); and the firm belief that watching a man mount a 1,900-lb. beast named Evil Forces while "You Shook Me All Night Long" blares in the arena is somewhat of a turn on.
(2) When I received an email announcing WE’s new dating reality show Girl Meets Cowboy (premieres Oct. 14), I responded immediately asking to see the first episode.
(3) I’m not-so secretly hoping that the Hallmark Channel is about to repeat its 2003 original Straight From the Heart, starring Andrew McCarthy and Teri Polo.
Your turn.
* "Beer Drinkin Songs" doesn’t entirely suck.

funny you should mention that. The Cowboy Way was on the other day and I had to watch the whole thing, regardless of how bad it was/is. Made me want a mustache like Kieffer though.
The fall TV season. I can’t get enough of all the new shows and new episodes of my old favorites. I keep hoping all the new shows I like don’t get cancelled. I check the ratings every day.
Current obsession? No, mine is an obsession that’s been going strong for at least 10 years now. I’m impossibly obsessed with teen drama. I’m 30 years old, and my Friday nights are devoted to watching the N. I have two tivos, and both are clogged with endless amounts of Degrassi episodes. I even have passed my Degrassi obsession to my husband. I’ve even started reading novels from the “young adult” section of the library.
christa, you are not alone.
i, too, am obsessed with all things degrassi. and we’re the same age. do you watch kyle xy? greek? really anything geared for that demographic on ABC family. oh, because i do and LOVE IT!!!
My current obsession is all things Nikki Sixx. I have been a Motley Crue fan since “Dr. Feelgood”. Nikki was always the heart and soul of that group. Not to mention he is also very easy on the eyes. I read “The Heroin Diaries” and now I just can’t get enough Nikki Sixx.
Mine must be alcohol because when I read PBR, my immediate thought was Pabst Blue Ribbon.
The Luke and Noah storyline on As The World Turns. I’ve never watched a single soap opera in my entire life, but someone told me there was some hot gay love going on, and next thing I knew I had stumbled upon a YouTube user (LukeVanFan) who had uploaded versions of each episode of just their storyline. We’re on episode 74 now. These 6 minute videos make my afternoons!
After last night, my obsessions are A)Pushing Daisies, and B) Anna Friel (who after one episode I’m ready to add to the Kristen Bell pantheon of TV stars I’m in love with). I also have a strange hunger for pie.
I’m with you, Vicki. I’ve been overly interested in this fall’s TV season. I have spent sleepless nights trying to keep up to date, so that I can read TV Watch and Mini TV Watch and not be spoiled. Another current obsession is Dancing with the Stars. I go to YouTube to see if the latest performances are online. And young adult fiction, too. Hmmm … it’s like you’re all living parts of my life!
Ever since I saw my first episode of Alias, I’ve been a wee bit obsessed with Jennifer Garner. My friends totally make fun of me for it, but they are good friends since they honored my birthday wish and sat through Catch and Release (apparently we were the only ones). I’m currently trying to pool funds and plan a trip to NYC to see her in Cyrano with Kevin Kline. They say the first step is admitting you have a problem.
I’m freakishly obsessed with Kevin Smith. I’ve listened to all 31 episodes of SModcast at least twice, I just finished listening to his entire 5 hour stint on Opie and Anthony, I’ve read each entry in his blog several times, and I’ve seen each of his movies hundreds of times I don’t post on his website, though, because I don’t have the time, nor the inclination, to turn my obsession into a lifestyle, as many of the posters over there do. But man, is that guy funny.
NFL Football! I know this because…
A) I log on to my fantasy site like every hour even though things rarely change once the line up is set! haha
B) One of my fav shows is NFL countdown Sunday mornings on ESPN!
C) My biggest TV crush right now is probably Tony Romo and i’m disappointed with Tom Brady over the baby stuff, but he is my fantasy QB so i still love him.
Honestly, I’ve been mildly obsessed with EW online lately. All the lists and polls and confessions. And I still have a subscription to the magazine!
I guess there are 2 of us Kristis now, but I have to give props to the other Kristi now and say thanks for reminding me–I have to go set my fantasy football lineup for this weekend.
My obsession is my DVR ever since I got it thinking it would make my live easier because I could go anywhere and not worry abot missing any shows, but now I’m afraid that the shows in my bank will erase so I’m watching tv constantly.
Edward Norton. I recently rented “Down In The Valley” which came out like two years ago. The scene in which Norton is playing with his gun…shirtless. Watch, rewind, watch, rewind, drool…
Vespas. I know because after spending $300 to get my PX repaired, I went ahead and spent $700 to purchase a 1964 Vespa “project” (as in, it’ll be a winter time project to get this thing even looking like it runs) over my wife’s very vocal opposition.
I also joined a scooter club and ride to work every day even though my office is 10 blocks from my condo.
Right now I’m obsessed with NFL football. Who’s injured, who’s healthy, who’s playing who on Sunday…is this a division game? Checking si.com first thing Monday morning for Peter King’s Monday Morning Quarterback column. In its simplest form, I’m rooting for the Colts to win and the Patriots to lose. Who wants it more?!
I’m somewhat reliving my high school obsession with Duran Duran right now (new album coming on Nov. 13th!) I’ve continued listening to the music over the years, but in recent months, I’ve been actively seeking out info on the band, checking out their MySpace “official” profile, and I’ve stumbled over a number of fan sites that appear to have been kept up for years. It makes me feel old, but hey – the guys have held up fairly well.
I am completely obsessed with SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. To the point of going to the live show tonight. I used to love AMERICAN IDOL, and then I caught wind of SYTYCD and now I see what a real reality competition can be! (Yes I know they are from the same production folks – but SYTYCD is so much better!)
Obession? Waiting for November 2. My b-day present to myself (born 11/7/75): A Lodge seat to the final Police reunion show at MSG. I’m crosing my fingers for Stu to sing his underground classic “Away From Home”, but if no I’ll settle for “Peanuts”.
It’s funny you ask because I just blogged about this. My current obsession is Dalton Ross (well, it has been for awhile, but it just keeps growing). Don’t tell him…I swear I’m not a stalker or anything.

Ken Burns’ “The War.” Really a must see.
Agrestic, CA…aka “Weeds”. If I could move there and be friends with Doug, Conrad or Nancy, etc. I would.
I am obsessed with popwatch on my google homepage. If it doesn’t refresh with something new every hour, then I get a little sad.
Football. Chicago Bears. Specifically, Brian Urlacher. Just him. Any way at all.
1. Ian McEwan novels
2. Kelly Clarkson’s “My December”
3. After tonight, my obsession with “30 Rock” will resume where it left off.
I’m lovin’ my Indianapolis Colts. Oh, and Indy 500 winner Helio on DWTS.
my current obsession is pirates. love everything about them. also an obsession is waiting for new nip/tuck episodes to start. can’t hardly wait.
“Life” starring Damian Lewis! My God, give this man more work because we need so much more of the likes of him than ANY of the Hollywood pretty boys.
