“Garner’s pregnancy was also not part of the original plotline for the final season.” So are you telling me it was her fault he got fired? He was the one who broke up with her and asked to write him out of Alias after this break up in 2004. So he got what he wanted.
The way Vartan´s fans always defend him makes him look pathetic. And so is his character on Big Shots:pathetic.

“Don’t touch me, I’m exfoliating”? That doesn’t even make any sense. It’s like they just picked a random word for “things women do that sound pointless” and stuck it into that sentence.

  • The Rock

    To Fifi:
    Jennifer Garner, is that you?

Michael Vartan alone will keep me tuning in, but I hear that future scripts are quite good. Big Shots wasn’t perfect, but no pilot is, and some of tv’s greatest series started out much rockier than this one. From the new shows I’ve seen so far, Big Shots has the most potential, especially if Rob Thomas is driving the ship. I’ll take these CEO’s over the Dirty Sexy Money Darling family any day.

I disagree with most of what you said. I wanted to hate Titus, but he ended up winning me over. I loved the group dynamic of all 4 guys together on screen, but also appreciated that only McDermott and Vartan shared the understanding of how hurt he was about his wife’s dishonesty. Don’t tune out just yet, watch a few more times and I’m sure we’ll all be hooked!

watch mad men instead, same idea except good.

Is it normal that I am throughout the entire first episode all I could do is think about each actor’s resume and play six degrees of billing separation. And it’s not like I’m a huge soap fan or anything, but the first thing I noticed was the presence of many daytime veterans – Jessica Collins, Peyton List, Nia Long, Wendy Moniz and Paige Turcot, the latter three all hailing from Guiding Light.
And that’s when I realized that I have much too much useless information still stored in my brain, but more importantly, that there must be something wrong if the most interesting thing about this show was the realization that both Moniz and Turcot both played the part of Dinah Marler on GL.
And is it just me or is “trannies” the shock du jour this fall : Jazzmun (Dontrelle) on Hot Shots, Carmelita (Candis Cayne) on Dirty Sexy Money…

Michael dear, we always agree on the same things but this time I have no idea where you are coming from. I read a review of this show on TV Guide and felt kind of sad because it got a bad review.
Suprisingly, I was laughing out loud at some of the jokes. The shrimp incident was funny as well as the tranny. Actually, it kind of turned me on that McDermot got serviced by a tranny!
It’s fun T.V and a lot better than Private Practice – now that was painful to watch! And what’s up with Grey’s and the stupid “Bambie” plot?!
I’ll be tuning in to Big Shots next week.

Hey, my husband laughed and thought it was fine.

I know guys like this! Maybe not big-money CEOs, but definitely the same personality types. Not necessarily the nicest guys at times, but they do have their good sides. Of course, the same people complaining about these guys probably LOVE the STERLING women of Desperate Housewifes, Sex & The City, Grey’s Anatomy, etc. Shows where nobody is venal, mean, lies, cheats, etc., right?

it seems to have a level of smarminess previously unheard of

Michael Vartan and Nia Long are the only people who will make me tune into this show again.

AA…I’m with you! Love Josh Malina. He is funny and soooo cute! He’s the reason I’ll keep watching BS.

Despite the hotness that is Dylan McDermott (even though he is clearly dying his eyebrows and hair Black with a capital B), the husband and I stopped watching after 15 minutes of this piggy sh*t. Won’t be tuning in again. “Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame…. fool me…. shame on….. won’t be fooled again!”

I should not pin this on Big Shots, but I’m so bored with marriage being portrayed as some sort of emasculating hell. Granted, there wouldn’t be as much dramatic mileage if one of the married men were in a solid, happy relationship. That being said, how much mileage can be obtained from “I’m married, there’s no more good times”?
It was too much to ask of the viewer to feel sympathy for the cheated-on husband AND the husband with mistress problems.
