I’m Your Villain – Franz Ferdinand
Walked Her Way Down – Crowded House
What Light – Wilco
Color Me Impressed – The Replacements
Beggars Might Ride – Destroyer
Not bad, I like all those songs.
1. 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover – Paul Simon.
2. I Heard It Through the Grapevine – Marvin Gaye.
3. A Hazy Shade of Winter – Simon & Garfunkel.
4. You’re the First, the Last, My Everything – Barry White.
5. Leaving on a Jet Plane – Peter, Paul & Mary.
The list says my taste in music is much older than my 31 years of age. Note, however, that my shuffle function could just as easily have come up with Gnarls Barkley, Jay-Z, Maroon 5, etc.
Well, random shuffle on my Nano reveals:
1) The 13th – The Cure
2) Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors – Radiohead
3) Something Beautiful – Tracy Bonham
4) Crush Me – House of Love
5) Casimir Pulaski Day – Sufjan Stevens
which indicates my love of 80s/90s alternative, shoegazing, and all things Radiohead. Whereas my regular iPod random shuffle comes up with:
1) Buenos Aires Hera Cero – Astor Piazzolla
2) Mojo Pin – Jeff Buckley
3) Afterglow – Travis
4) Fanfare – Little Mermaid Soundtrack
5) Beethover String Quartet No. 15 – Takacs Quarter
which indicates that we’ve got our entire music collection on that thing, including my 4-year-old’s Disney princess movie stuff.
Can get you off my mind-lenny kravitz
make it work- ne-yo
never love again-anothy hamilton
let love rule-lenny kravitz
i got the feelin’-The INCREDIBLE James Brown
Alright..let’s go-
1. Something to Sing About – Once More, With Feeling (Buffy) Soundtrack
2. Girl Inform Me – The Shins
3. (And She Said)Take Me No – Justin Timberlake
4. Black Metallic – Catherine Wheel
5. The Air That I Breathe-The Hollies
It could have been WAY worse.
1)Hey Mama- Black Eyed Peas
2)Hunting High And low- Aha
3)Rock Your Body- Justin Timberlake
4)Ray Of Light- Madonna
5)Live Forever- Oasis
I have no idea what it means. It’s true I like Europop and dance music though as you can tell!
1. “Halloween,” Rent soundtrack
2. “City of Blinding Lights,” U2, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb
3. “Heart of the House,” Alanis Morrissette, Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie
4. “Josie and the Pussycats,” Josie and the Pussycats soundtrack
5. “Hard to Say Goodbye,” Dreamgirls soundtrack
Well, it says I love me some musicals. And some U2. And I’m Canadian. And Josie and the Pussycats is an underrated movie, with a guilty-pleasure soundtrack! I suppose it also says I love me some Rosario Dawson.
Okay, now that I’ve done the Nano, let’s do the other one.
1. Rhyme & reason – Dave Matthews Band
2. Sittin’ On Top of the World – Jack White
3. Some Flowers Bloom Dead – The Wallflowers
4. Drifters – Gordon Lightfoot
5. Let it Be Me – Bob Dylan
Not bad.
Well…
Got to give it up, Part 1 by Marvin Gaye
Let it be, The Beatles
Gone, ‘Nsync
Please don’t let me be misunderstood, Nina Simone
Sing Sing Sing (With a swing)(from the Swing Kids Soundtrack)
I sure don’t know what this could tell about me, except that I seem to live in a past I was not a part of, (and a soft spot for ‘Nsync…)
Bat for Lashes – What’s a Girl To Do
Cake – Daria
Reel Big Fish – I Want Your Girlfriend to be My Girlfriend Too
Kanye West – Big Brother
Blur – Essex Dogs
Business Time – Flight of the Conchords
Guess Who Ran Off with the Milkman – The Pipettes
Portions for Foxes – Rilo Kiley
In Any Other World – Mika
When Your Minds Made Up – Once soundtrack
Which means I really wish I was foreign…or Jenny Lewis. The ipod speaks the truth!
Should read “String Quartet” – typed too fast!
1. The Strokes, “Killing Lies”
2. Jars of Clay, “Fly”
3. James Taylor, “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)”
4. Patty Griffin, “Christina”
5. Breaking Benjamin, “Unknown Soldier”
I’m not sure what this says about me. It’s fairly eclectic, with a higher concentration of male vocalists than female…
i think i have to compete for the gayest ipod now – if this is what comes up when randomly selected…
aretha – sweet sweet baby
grey gardens – jerry likes my corn
patti labelle – over the rainbow
hanifah walidah – make a move
billie myers – kiss the rain
1) Under ma Sleng Ting 2)some all musical ska track from the 1960s 3) “Walk this way” Aerosmith and Run DMC 4)”boogie on Reggae Woman” Stevie Wonder 5)”Dancehall Queen”.
Sounds like I’m on a Reggae kick (3 reggae/dancehall/ska tunes and 1 with the title “reggae” in it), and an old school tip.
