I think hosting snl would be a brilliant career move!!
Apatow all the way!!!
She should get a small role in a movie like Superbad or Knocked up… (or maybe even a Juno-type movie??)
and she’ll be on top of her game. i know she has it in her.
And for all of you who think she is a bad actress, at least know that she IS a dedicated one. Just watch some of the old Amanda Bynes shows and you’ll see how commited she is to ‘being’ her characters.

The fixation on parental issues is true, but using the acting, directing and procing talents of Julia Stiles as a pattern, Amanda could consider working in a heavy drama like The Bourne Ultimatum was. Beautiful with brains trumps just beauty.

We’re not saying Bynes has to portray a drug-addled skank or a pregnant single mother or anything like that. She needs to stop playing the cute-kultzy tomboy in every film because they’re getting long in the tooth, otherwise she might as well kiss her acting career goodbye. Sydney White debuted at #6 grossing about 5 mil. Hairspray was a good start. Imagine if she joined the Judd Apatow gang, that would be sheer genius.

Amanda Bynes and Rachel McAdams are the only real young actresses left in Hollywood. I think Amanda needs to starts taking risks and getting roles that are outside the box. And where has Rachel McAdams gone? But I heard she’s gonna be with Eric Bana in The Time Traveler’s Wife so that’s good. I think we just need to be patient.

Give the girl some credit! She’s growing up in her filmwork and will not be this age forever. Not all teen girls need to jump into an older role so quickly.
It worked for Natalie Wood in REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE and it worked for Jodie Foster in TAXI DRIVER, but a career requires patience and thought. Amanda seems to have both of these.
Agreed, if she gets work through Tina Fey or Judd Apatow, then there could be major growth, but Amanda fills a void in the female comedy world and has succeeded there for a long while.
Plus, she’s working on her own clothing line now to diversify (the same way was paved by the Olsen Twins and Hillary Duff). She’s sweet and gorgeous and a strong role model for girls. She’ll stick around (sorry Tara Reid).

If you try to compare someone’s movie roles using such generic thematic criteria, of course you’ll find similairites. Especially because she is a teen girl comedian in Hollywood.

I really hope that Amanda starts getting some better parts. She’s more than capable of carrying a film, and she’s very watchable. I actually thought she was hilarious in her small role in “Hairspray” and in her leading role in the cheesy “She’s the Man.” If she would be more careful with her film choices in the future, she could have a great career.
Whoever posted that she should host “SNL” was dead on, by the way. It could potentially give her a chance to show off her fantastic comic timing in a less campy context.
