Your dream TV-show marathon?

Natasha_lI’m gonna go with America’s Next Top Model, which thinks it’s going to suck me in again this weekend and… it probably will. Cycle eight (featuring Natasha, pictured) starts at noon Saturday on VH1. You’ve been warned.

ANTM for sure! I always get sucked into the marathons. I’ve seen certain seasons at least 4 times. Other than that, I’ll say any Law and Order except for SUV.

  • Ben

Buffy the Vampire Slayer hands down! You have drama, comedy, horror, sci-fi, even a musical. It’s ground breaking television and writing at its best (and sometimes worst) and by far, the biggest snub in the history of Emmy voting.

  • Jackie

That’s the only time I watch AMNTM!!! But I would love a Battlestar Galatica or The Office marathons…and those Nick-at-Nite mini-marathons of the Cosby Show are grrrrrrreat too.

  • mags

I’d love to watch all 12 Flight of the Conchords episodes in a row. They were so much fun–can’t wait for Season 2.

  • Vicky

Lately I’ve gotten sucked into HGTV’s Design Star marathons, but ANTM is probably the most addicting. That’s how I started watching the show. Man vs. Wild marathons are great too. Although they don’t seem to play those anymore since the whole hotel situation.

A LOST marathon would keep me on the couch all day.

  • Aaron

A good Real World Road Rules Challenge Marathon can kill an otherwise hope-filled day.

ANTM marathons are quite possible the most sublime/horrific television experience available today. It pretty much can turn the most skeptical Tyra hater into an ANTM fanatic. It’s a life-changing experience that everyone should have at least once (and once you try an ANTM marathon, I can guarantee you that it won’t be your last).

ANTM always sucks me in. I don’t even know why–I don’t really like it, and yet I find it sickeningly compelling. Damn you, Tyra Banks!

  • Ben

My wife and I spent many uninterrupted hours on our couch getting her caught up on all three seasons of “Arrested Development” on DVD…”Family Love Michael!”

  • jenna

PROJECT RUNWAY MARATHONS ARE THE BESTTT!

  • lovedog

Buffy sure. But of current shows, the most underappreciated, never spoken of, gem: THE 4400.
Treat yourself to a season sometime.

  • Jim

i believe the answer you all are searching for is House of Carters. you’re welcome.

  • MsDaisy

Law and Order with Jerry Orbach, not so much without him. House, anytime, anywhere. Project Runway, any season. ANTM, just because I never can remember who won.

  • RobC

Frankly, I think it’s a good idea to snub this Sunday’s Emmys with a marathon of some of most criminally ignored shows: “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Gilmore Girls,” “Veronica Mars,” and more.

  • Dio_K

“The Life and Times of Molly Dodd” From the bitter-sweet beginning to the surreal end.

  • Kristin

The 3 words that can throw a wrench into an otherwise productive day.
    Being Bobby Brown.
If it’s on I know I’m not getting anything done that day. Hell to the no!

  • fatty

LOST season 3. I’m going through withdrawal.

  • stephen

“Roseanne” gets me every time, even though I’ve seen each episode. Also the “Top Chef” and “My Life on the D-List” marathons on Bravo.

  • Anonymous

Lost or 24. I am in widthdrawl of both.
PS – Go lost at the emmys!!!

  • lency

I would say Angel only because I’ve seen 99% of Buffy already. I’ll like to add ANTM always gets me plus Design Star.

  • MJ

Paradise Hotel on the Fox Reality Channel. I actually DVR’d all of them earlier this year and I refuse to delet them! It is the most awesomest reality show of all time.
But the ANTM marathons always seem to suck me in too!

  • Front Section

LOST for the win. I burned thru Season 2 in like two days on DVD. It is so addicting, you can’t wait until the next one.

  • teneil

can’t wait to see america’s next top model. i’m totally addicted to it, even though i’ve seen every season numerous times. countin’ down the days on the calendar until the new season starts, sept 19!!!

  • SJ

OMGSH. I am SO glad I’m not the only one who gets hooked on those ANTM marathons! Strength in numbers, people!

  • RBlues

Definitely ANTM-I LOVE when those are on.
Glad to see another Roseanne lover as well.
LOST–just do you can see stuff you missed the first time.
And being totally honest here–Little House on the Prairie. Last year on my birthday (Memorial Day) there was a marathon and I totally felt like it was a personal gift to me. I didn’t even want to go to my birthday BBQ!

  • RBlues

By the way, I do realize that I spelled definately incorrectly. I am still getting used to this new-fangled laptop thingy.

  • Ceballos

The answer’s “Lost” or “24″ (pre-sucky Season 6). Lost is SO much better on DVD than when ABC does something silly like insert an 11-week gap in the middle of the season.
24 plays slightly better on TV because (like Lost starting this year) all of the season’s episodes air without reruns. Still, they’re better on DVD.
Also, although it’s not nearly as good as it used to be, I love when HBO strings episodes of “Entourage” together. I’ll toss in HGTV’s “House Hunters” too.
I LOVE ANTM, but I wouldn’t call a marathon a “dream” scenario. VH-1 has a marathon like every other weekend.

  • chris

i’d love to watch a buffy marathon. yeah that’d be a couple of days, but how awesome would that be! also, a family guy marathon and a south park marathon would be so much fun

  • Kim

(RBlues, you actually spelled “definitely” right the first time.)
ANTM is constantly in marathons. I’ve seen most seasons and actually never watched a stand-alone episode.
I agree with the poster who said “The Office.” I’d also say “Freaks and Geeks” and “My So-Called Life.”
