Snap Judgment: Jennifer Lopez’s “Do It Well”
No.
snap judgement – YES – I will be doin it well in the car, me likes it, It ain’t rocket science, but it’s POP music, it makes me smile, snap and pop my HIPS – YIPPEE, what more does a 35 year old want??
this song is great, but it isnt like an “in your face comeback!!”i am a jlo fan and the song is a descent club poppin song, but nothing really special there.
Hey Slezak & Stephen…I haven’t been around much the past few weeks, but wanted to let y’all know that the next Fergie single is going to be “CLUMSY” & the next Timbaland single is going to be the ballad with One Republic “Apologize”. Two sure fire hits from 2 great cds. I didn’t know where else to post this since I haven’t read too many posts the past 2 weeks, but figured y’all would wanna know!!
Oh & since I’m here, I like Miss Anthony’s new single, “DO IT WELL” better than the other track they were trying to push (literally), “HOLD IT, PUSH IT”. I like it, but I don’t love it…yet. I’m torn, because as far as titles go, I still love the Nelly Furtado remix of “DO IT” with Missy Elliott alot more than Miss Anthony’s single. Missy is on fire right now, and she doens’t even have an album dropping this year…maybe that rumored collabo with Timbaland might be coming out after all…hmm….
Hey guys remember jlo has sold more 50 million records so like it or not she is a musical giant. i love the track.
I am not a J-Lo fan but i really do like this song. Maybe it may not have the best vocals but its good production and the catchy chorus makes it audibly pleasing, but isn’t that true with most pop music.
mmm WACK SHE LOOKS TERRIBLE I MEAN LIKE ALL THE HITTING JUST TO GET TO ONE BOY MM EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT WAS THE POINT I WOULD THINK SHE WOULD DO BETTER!!SHE PREETY AND THE CLOTHES IS NICE BUT DO BETTER
It’s the same old lame crap. Sampling old 70′s tunes is so out-dated. It might have worked if we were in the early 1990′s, but now in 2007 it’s tired and not original. J-Lo doesn’t have a great singing talent, but at least I give her credit for remaining a classy lady. She has class, unlike other no talents like Britney Spears or Paris Hilton. She looks great for 39, and she should stick with acting, if she’s ever offered any roles.
Yes, they both sample 1973′s “Keep on Truckin’”, written by Leonard Caston, Anita Poree, and Frank Wilson and performed by Eddie Kendricks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do_It_Well
LL Cool J’s song “Doin it” was not an artistic blend of Grace Jone’s Jamaican Guy. There were two female rappers from Trenton NJ who came out with the song “Doing it” in 1988 and it was the same song…same beat and chorus, but the rap was way better. I wish I could remember their names. I recorded it off of the Radio Station at Princeton University.
yes I remember the song doin it back in 1988 i have been trying to find that song . does anyone know where i can find that song .
