I did the SAME EXACT thing about the page numbers… I just opened the very bottom of the pages.
Oh Mandi, so SO get me…
For Half-Blood Prince, my husband turned to the last part of the book and thought he’d be funny by saying “Blank killed blank”. This didn’t give away anything until he said something like “His half-moon glasses…” and then I freaked out. So my avoidance of spoilers was not to let my husband put his hands on my Deathly Hallows.
I went to the midnight party and took my sister and three of her fiends. We all avoided the media for two days. But the problem became my sister and had I had reserved the book and the other three had to wait. They made us promise to not even open the cover much less turn a page. But they did take turns just holding the books. One of the girls read out loud all the way to their houses so we could get started immediately. Then we got home and read all night. It was totally worth it though. And the person who wrote the ending with no warning is just mean.
Why would someone post the spoilers in the comments? If you don’t want spoilers, STOP READING the comments!
well, in our house, there are 2 avid readers. when the book arrived, avid reader one took it and disappeared, not to reappear until noon the next day, having pulled an all nighter. avid reader one made the mistake of laying the book down at one point , and before i could get to it my husband laid his hands on the book (he doesn’t read these but HAS seen the movies) and proceeded to read, of all things, the epilogue!
talk about a spoiler!!
After the video hit the internet of the losers driving around a Barnes and Noble parking lot screaming out Half-Blood Prince spoilers to unsuspecting fans, I was petrified the same thing would happen for the next book… so I brought earplugs to the midnight party, put them in the second I got the book, and then positively RAN to the car, where I had already turned off the radio so I wouldn’t hear anything. I was sooo paranoid!
I am taking a class on Thursday evenings that will interfere with Grey’s Anatomy. My co-workers have already been warned that not a word is to be uttered about Grey’s until Friday at 1 p.m. — after I have had a chance to watch the episode online during my lunch break! Only then is anyone in my office permitted to mutter a McWord about Grey’s.

Better question, why doesn’t EW ever mod the comments? I can’t take a messge board seriously if it’s a free for all, and it’s a testament to the readers that USUALLy it isn’t.
LOL i totally did everything you just said in that post. Now I hate all my friends cause they took their time. I feel like I missed out on enjoying every page slowly. I also hate when trailers show you all the good parts of a film, so whenever i see a superbad trailer i frantically change the channel. when i saw rush hour 3, the first 20 minutes were from the trailers and talk show clips. i was so pissed.
I had to use an old paystub to cover the pages as I read down them — to prevent my eyes from wandering.
I was so paranoid because i wanted to finish the book so badly i isolated my self from any Social Events. That was difficult for me because i practically live with my friends.i also took the book everywhere to the point of annoying my mother who said “You should read more” know that i have a full libarary at home she says “stop reading and go with your friends” i really don’t understand her well know that i have read it i feel the need to write my own storys which by the way are quite good well Love You All My Fellow Harry Potter Fans And I Wish To Thank J.K.Rowling For Her Outstanding Job.I Only Hope That This Story Last For Generations To Come, Well If There Are Any Generations To Come After All These Continous Natural Tragedys,The Story Has Inspired Me In Many Ways But In One,Particulaar Fear The Fear Of Death.i used to think that death was sad, unbearable, but death is something you shouldn’t fear it will in time reach you, unlike harry we don’t own an Invisability Cloak To Hide Under.
I am obsessed with Jensen Ackles, Dean Winchester, and Supernatural! This is the most underated show on television!
