Oh and I almost forgot about Mandy Moore’s cover of “Umbrella”. Lovely.
My must list at the moment-
Weeds, Big Love and any tennis match I can find on tv
1. Intelligent women and intellegent television- Mary McDonnell’s Laura Roslin in BSG seemed to start the wave for smart, spicy, rich characters played by smart, saucy women on television. I’m nursing the hiatus wounds of Lost (really, Juliette Mitchell should get an award for ‘Most Amazing Character Save of a Series’ for helping to get Lost back on track) and BSG with the ladies of Damages and Holly Hunter’s Saving Grace, and Kyra’s Closer. They almost make up for those clueless-like, ‘I’m not dieting and the Hills is totally unscripted’ 20somethings I’m supposed to be identifying with. Almost.
2. Geek Boys- Judd Apatow has made geek chic this summer. Add that to the upload of fans and vendors at conventions like Comic-Con and ‘the boys are back!’ Which will make my upcoming high school reunion all the more painful.
3. Rehab. Come on. Everyone’s doin’ it! Even Amy Winehouse is taking a shot.
James McAvoy. His brilliant performance in Last King of Scotland should have earned him an Oscar nomination. But his chemistry with Anne Hathaway in Becoming Jane sealed my crush on him. Give this guy more roles!!
Must Tv: Friday Night Lights – the best unseen tv show.
1. Friday Night Lights DVD: the pilot didn’t hook me, so I became a fan late in the series. Am looking forward to catching up with all the episodes I missed (especially since NBC dropped its plan to show repeats this summer).
2. Mad Men: am liking it more as the series progresses. The overt sexism of the pilot was offputting. Now the female characters are showing a bit more gumption.
3. Matt Damon’s press tour for the Bourne Ultimatum. Very funny stuff, especially the Jimmy Kimmel Guillermo spoof. Who knew Damon could be so funny?
My must is for this great new indie comic book called SO SUPER DUPER! I love it! Check it out at:

Lucas, Ashley, Zac, Vanessa, Corbin and Moneque are ALL the best. I love HSM/HSM 2 songs and I can’t wait until HSM 3!!!
My boyfriend and I were just at our local (awesome) coffee shop/comic/book store, and all the guys were hyped about a new comic book by Phil Hester called “Golly!”. Our friend had seen a preview at Comicon and couldn’t wait. I don’t read many of those things but I have to say, it’s pretty funny and well done, and not the typical superhero junk (sorry).
1. “Sleepyhead” by the group Passion Pit – MGMT-esque, really hypnotic
2. Hugh Jackman – can’t wait for the new X-Men movie!
3. Chelsea Lately – love Chelsea Handler, so hilarious!
