For some reason, I thought Beverly Hills 90210 meant that this was Beverly Hillbillies in the year 90210. Don’t ask.
When I saw Friends, I didn’t realize the cast was listed alphabetically. I thought it was the girls and then the guys and the way they appeared (Rachel then Joey, Monica then Chandler, etc) was the way they were going to hook up. So imagine my confusion when there was this ruckus about Ross and Rachel. I was like “NO! Ross is supposed to be with Pheobe and Rachel with Joey!”

I used to believe that animals were actually hurt in movies (they probably were in old ones though) like in Braveheart when the horses run into the scottish’spears I’d cry thinking they killed many horses for that shot.

I convinced myself that I was one of the kids who danced in the Blues Brothers. Just like Mandi’s Gretl delusion, I saw a little girl in the Blues Brothers who looked like me, and I was of the mind that yeah, that’s me.
Mandi has always been a pop culture pimp, well before her days as the head of the Film Board at Syracuse!

I used to think Jack and Chrissy from Three’s Company were my real-life uncle and aunt, who resembled John Ritter and Suzanne Somers. My aunt’s name is “Christy,” and I thought they just took her name and changed it up a bit.

I used to think I “knew” all the people I saw on TV. I would go around telling people I “knew” two Natalies — my friend Natalie, and Natalie Wood. Made perfect sense to me.

also another fun memory i forgot (although not technically “entertainment” i thought that in every light there were these little elves or something that were told when to do something to light up whatever color was supposed to be lit at that time… i even convinced my older brother of that, until we figured out how electricity worked! i guess we were very stupid children lol
