Sorry, P-Dubs, if you’ve been wondering what the hell has been going on. There were server issues. Seems to be a "Tuesday afternoon" thing. The Moody Blues probably need to stop controlling our blog.
Anyway, NBC’s confirmed that Jimmy Fallon is "at the top of our short list" to replace Conan O’Brien as host of NBC’s later late-night show in 2009. Conan will replace Leno, obvs, thank God, so someone needs to come on after that and be vaguely funny. (Here’s how Fallon did "on trial" in 2006.) The great news is that we’ll all be able to go to bed earlier. Also, 2009? Seems really far away. I wouldn’t be surprised if, right before then, I spontaneously combust and all that remains in my place is a puddle of coffee, candy, and the congealed mass of unrelated viral video miscellany that has, by that point, thoroughly replaced my brain. So, questions:
Will society make it to 2009?
What about Lindsay?
Who should replace Conan, if not Jimmy Fallon?
Hey NBC, how about you focus on making some good shows for this upcoming season first. We’ll talk about 2009 after you stink up 2007 and 2008. ‘kay?
1. Society will make it if Obama wins
2. Lindsay will be semi-recovered but reduced to lifetime/hallmark movies
3. Rosie or Kathy Griffin
I would not be at all surprised if Lindsay Lohan wasn’t around in two years. I second the nomination of Kathy Griffin (side note: am I the only one who thinks Kathy needs to either quit the plastic surgery or go all the way, a la Joan Rivers?).
As long as Jimmy can remember Switzerland and Sweden are two different places, we’ll be okay.
kathy would suck! I like her, but her schtick is insulting celebrities…who would come on the show? it would only work if she was watered down & then it wouldn’t be funny
my suggestion is Chris Rock, he doesn’t curse as much as he used to. Even if its bad, it’ll stop him from wasting his talent trying to make movies. Its a win-win!
Jimmy Fallon’s a likeable guy, but I’m not so sure about him hosting late night. It might be okay if he could get his laughter under control (something he couldn’t do on SNL). Instead of Jimmy Fallon, I would nominate Michael Ian Black. I thought he was great when he was auditioning for whatever show Craig Kilborn used to host.
can we please have Ricky Gervais host the Late Show and have Stephen Merchant as his co-host. I would forgive all the other crap (heroes is great) NBC puts on if they would make that move
although, Life doesn’t look that bad. He was good as Winters in Band of Brothers
Andy Richter. The guy can’t catch a break with any of his sitcoms, he’s got Late Night experience, and although he was with Conan all those years, I think his comedic style is different enough from Conan’s to make them a good back to back combo again.

Zach Galifianakis. His VH1 show was way ahead of it’s time, maybe the world would be ready now. He could play with the format in an awesome way.
I like Jimmy. I think he’d be a great host.
if amy sedaris didn’t have better and more hilarious things to do, she’d be an amazing talk show host.
