FNL and Lost were completely robbed. As were Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton.
Kudos to Terry O’Quinn and Michael Emerson.
Boston Legal? Like the show, but it is no where near the quality level of FNL and Lost. The members of the academy need to WAKE UP!
where to start???? well first off let me give my biggest rant for ignoring elizabeth mitchell’s brilliant work in Lost… she has been my favorite character this season. and NO michael c hall for dexter???? now thats just ridiculous… theres more- i will rant more later…
2 and a 1/2 MEN? Horrible writing, tired storyline, supporting cast is wasted, and the “acting” by Charlie Sheen? I wish I got paid that much to mooch around work basically being MYSELF. When will this show be cancelled?
I think they nominated Charlie Sheen and Two and Half men just so CBS could have at least one nomination and to jusitfy Sheens salary.
NO BSG Noms? NO Frackin way!
and no Scrubs??? who the hell watches two and a half men anyway???
no offense mandi, but if you don’t watch 24, lost, battlestar gallactica or friday night lights (or, ahem, the best show on television—the wire), then maybe you shouldn’t have been the one to write this post. but since you seem to represent the average emmy voter, maybe you’re perfect. thank god that the sopranos, 30 rock and the office are mainstream, otherwise the emmy nomination would have gone from being merely offensive to a collosal joke.
Lauren Graham.
…the only show that has made me laugh/feel this past season was How I Met Your Mother…
I maybe alone on this, but I actually think the Emmy’s nominee list is shocking decent. Sure there are several major snubs, but that will always happens when it comes major award shows. I guess the one that hurts the most is the absence of LOST in the “best drama” category b/c this season was so terrific. But nominations for Michael Emerson and the great Terry O’Quinn make up for that in a small way. Overall there are at least a couple of nominees in each category that I’m rooting for. And yeah for my freshman favorites: BROTHERS & SISTERS, UGLY BETTY, & 30 ROCK!!
The lack of “24″ is a deserved one. But the stunning lack of a clue in the drama category ruins the Emmys for me. The shock is only assuaged at all by the “Office”-related nominations, particularly Jenna Fischer’s, and by seeing Masi Oka and some “Lost” actors in the supporting actors in a drama list. But it’s not enough for me to sit through a show that honors shows like “Two and a Half Men.” And I know “Grey’s Anatomy” is popular, but it and “Boston Legal” over this year’s “Lost” and “Friday Night Lights”? I don’t watch “The Wire,” but from what I’ve read I get the feeling it deserves a place to. I haven’t watched all of “Battlestar Galactica” but I’ve seen enough to know that the continuous snub of the show and its actors is terrible. And Kyle Chandler being ignored is just incredible. What are these voters watching?
I believe Ellen Pompeo totally deserved a Best Actress in a Drama Series nomination. She was robbed.
But in general I find the nominations satisfying.
Has anyone else noticed that the Tonight Show w/Jay Leno got completely knocked out? I’m actually okay with this, but kind of surprised that anyone had the guts to not vote for it. Did they forget to nominate themselves? Go Letterman!!
Lost’s ommissions are ridiciulous. The way they choose nominees for awards is ridiculous. I watch Boston Legal and enjoy it, but no way is it in the same league as Lost. Trouble is, from a single episode, BL looks like a great show whereas Lost looks like a confusing mess. You wouldn’t haev a clue what was happening if you never watched the show and had one episode only to go on. Same goes with BG – at least in the writing drama category they got something right – Sopranos, Lost, BG — I can’t complain about that group! In comedy, HIMYM should have been nominated – supporting actor in a comedy is a TOUGH category. At least I can root for the Office…
Lauren Graham.
Greys wasn’t a good season!? and I guess Lauren Graham and the Gilmore Girls will never get the recognition it deserved! and what about the gay brother in B&S, Kevin Walker, not only is he playing gay, he is also Welsh! I am sure there will be others that will come to me by the end of the day!
