Gotta be (1)the upcoming season of USA’s Pysch, (2) Richard Ayoade appearing on both the upcoming UK an US versions of the IT Crowd, and (3)Spoon’s new album “Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga”.

    1. Lore Segal’s “Shakespeare’s Kitchen”: Segal’s newest collection of short stories is the perfect summery combination of the mundane and the fraught-with-meaning.
    2. “Tonight I Have to Leave It,” the new single from Shout Out Louds, formerly of O.C.-fame. Swedish pop mixes the gloriously fluffy and endlessly poignant.

    1. “Psych” – The USA network has perfected summer programming, and “Psych” shows it, the perfect mix of fun characters, fluffy plots and pop culture references.
    2. eMusic.com – The second biggest online music store, and number one for indie lovers.
    3. Kathy Griffin – She’s witty, she’s snarky, and people either love her or hate her. I love her, and will always think of Renee Zellweger as a “sweaty, puffy cokewh*re.”

    1. Josh Groban- Awake. Josh is resuming his summer tour and I was lucky enough to see him at the Staples Center in March and again have tickets to see him in August in Portland and Anaheim. I love every song on this cd and have so many favorites that I can’t help but play over and over. I think Josh Groban deserves to be on any Must List. P.S. Did you see him perform at the concert for Diana? Spectacular.
    2. Lost- the show is a must list for TV. Season three was amazing. I rank it #2 of all the seasons so far. Can hardly wait for it to come back and am sad knowing that there is an end in sight.
    3. Kathy Griffin- I love her Bravo show, Life on the D-list. Am sad that her father passed away. I loved seeing her parents on the show. They were hilarious and it’s easy to see where she gets it from.

Summer TV programming – the time of year when no one wants to think too hard, so mindless fluff is most welcome, and you don’t have to worry if you miss a week. I’m talking SYTYCD, Last Comic Standing, Big Brother, Age of Love, America’s Got Talent, etc.

    Mythbusters
    Scandinavian Cooking with Tina Nordstrom
    Hell’s Kitchen
Mythbusters is a fantastic show because the guys attempt to disprove myths that I don’t think that anyone ever knew about. I mean how much TNT will it take to blow up a toilet?

Lo que surja on Youtube/Loquesurja.es. Sure, it’s a Spanish Internet show without subtitles, but it’s more addictive and better than anything on American television this summer. It’s the lives of a group of gay men in Valencia, and it’s must see.
Lo que surja is the name.
    Lo que surja.

The Office, 30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother.
Three very funny comedies that struggled to get renewed. Good comedies are hard to come by on the big or small screens. If you don’t watch them, get them a try this summer.

Book: Category 7 by Bill Evans
The reason: Global Warming and Rapid Climate Change are buzz words in todays political climate. This new thriller written by a weatherman is topical and terrifying.
Movie: Live Free or Die Hard
The reason: A throwback to the rough and tough action movies of the late 80′s and 90′s that feels good as it hits hard. Don’t let the PG-13 rating full you, it’s more hardcore than most action movies in the post-matrix era.
    TV: Age of Love
The reason: Dating reality shows are not dead with this high concept show who puts a new twist on the old reality show format.

The antagonists in “Ratatoille” – Ian Holm’s and Peter O’Toole’s characters are just as well written (and funny!) as the heroes.

  • SuzieC

Harry Potter – With the 5th and most rebelliously angsty movie coming out and the release of the highly anticipated final book of the series this is the summer of Potter.
So You Think You Can Dance – The best reality show of the summer. It never fails to entertain or educate about the dance world. You don’t have to know much about dance to love it. I’m addicted.

Music- RBD. they’re heating up the international charts. Touring Europe. And about to sing a duet with the Black Eyed Peas(with Fergie!). They’re red hot.
TV Show- Big Brother 8. sure it’s not on now…but just anticipating it is better than watching Pirate Master. And yes I’m watching Pirate Master. nothing else to do.
Book- Harry Potter. Forget the movies, in less than 20 days the last book comes how. but if you want something that’s out check out Meg Cabot- new books and a magna. She does it all!
