Gary Busey is an original. A talented original — his performance in the title role of The Buddy Holly Story earned him a well-deserved Oscar nomination in 1978. Lately though, he’s mostly known for his bizarre pronouncements on topics great and small. (It should be said that such, um, unfiltered loquacity was evident even before a near-fatal 1988 motorcycle accident led doctors to operate on his brain.) Here are two pieces of recent Buseyalia: a fascinating scene in which Busey instructs a camera crew on the proper way to interview… Gary Busey — and a short clip from his (sadly) short-lived Comedy Central reality-series I’m With Busey. And, finally, check out Ewan McGregor recounting his own encounter with the man. Happy birthday, Gary!

There are actors who have a reputation for being “out there” (like Walken and Depp), and then there’s Busey! Loved him on “Entourage.” Loved the way he described his artistic process:
“What is emotional confusion you ask? It’s like running naked through a cornfield backwards at midnight.”
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Busey!
It is nice to know Busey is still with us. The man has scrambled brains from his motor cycle accident.
