love love love this crazy show…completely unexpected and quirky….it is not too full of itself and you warm up to the characters and their plight quickly….the songs and lyrics are brilliant…hilarious!
Ugh I’m tired of people comparing this show to the Tenacious D show. Both shows are absolutely top notch – who cares if they’re similar? Plus, we haven’t seen a show even similar to the Tenacious D show in what 8 years and even that only had like 6 episodes. The setup may be similar but the type of comedy is radically different anyway. For example I’m not a real big Family Guy fan but that show’s pretty much a carbon copy of the Simpsons yet the humor is completely different so it can stand by itself.
Slezak – you mention a new HBO comedy and don’t even give the tiniest shoutout to The Comeback? How will we ever keep its memory alive. I’m disappointed in you.
I hope this show gets cancelled so that all of you who loved it will feel the sting I felt when The Comeback got the ax! This show plays to a limited audience on HBO. If it does get picked up for another season, it’ll go the way of Big Love -MONDAY NIGHT! : P
I enjoyed the premiere episode quite a bit. I added it to my DVR rotation.
Ed, get a grip on yourself.
God I love this show. The songs, the comedy. My 7-year-old daughter & I are learning the robot song. She does Jemaine’s part & I do Bret whilst playing guitar.
Best show I’ve ever seen. Ever.
Remember these guys are only the 4th best folk parody duo in New Zealand. You wait until we unleash the third….1 and 2 are actually over-rated
Jemaine is a sexy beast. I don’t have a picture of his lips in my wallet, but I can understand why you would. I saw them live several years ago in NZ and I am positive that Jemaine was singing “Somethin’ special for the ladies” directly to me. I was in the third row. Their show is a piece of genius wrapped in oddness that has been slowly marinated in a vat of funky. Tino pai you fullas.
