Are there any hit shows you've never watched?

Trump_lIt’s hard not to view Donald Trump’s announcement that he’s moving on from The Apprentice to a "major new TV venture" as a case of a dude bolting out of his office yelling "I quit! I quit!" just seconds before the interoffice-mail envelope containing his pink slip lands on his desk. After all, NBC had failed to include The Donald’s fading reality franchise on its fall schedule, and while the network had until June 1 to decide the show’s fate, it was looking likely that the real-estate titan was about to be on the receiving end of his own famous catchphrase.

The demise of The Apprentice doesn’t really affect me much one way or the other, though, except for the fact that it means I’ll go to my grave never having seen a full episode of the show. Oh, sure, I may have caught the occasional moment or two during post-Survivor channel-surfing a couple years back, and yes, I couldn’t resist the first few episodes of its spin-off, The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, but I never indulged in the original flavor.

Which makes me wonder about you, PopWatchers: Is there a super-popular series (either current or off-the-air) that you’re willing to admit you never watched? Share your pop-cultural blind spot in the comments section below!

I’ve never ever watched “Survivor” (even when it was at its peak of popularity)…and I’m pretty proud of that.

Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, Greys Anatomy, 24…basically all the one hour dramas which are supposed to be fantastic. I prefer to watch Flavor of Love and its demon spin-offs

I have never watched Survivor, American Idol, The Apprentice, America’s Next Top Model, Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, and, um…well, my list would be very long. My friends think I live in a vacuum.

  • Ben

I never once watched Everybody Loves Raymond. Can’t stand the promos or the shrill characters, so I always fast forward through those promos esecially on my TiVo. Can’t say I feel left out of the pop culture curve.
Oh, and I have never watched American Idol. Slezak and EW provide so much coverage I don’t even have to watch. And I don’t care. But I love Kelly Clarkson on her own.

I’ve never seen Lost, and it seems pointless to try this far into it.

The Amazing Race. You couldn’t pay me to watch that evil Emmy-winning show. Anyone who gives “Romber”(whom I couldn’t stand on Survivor) 15 extra minutes of fame is on my poo poo list.

i’ve never watched an episode of BUFFY, and though i watched it at times, i really did not like FRIENDS.

A lot of the stuff already mentioned I’ve never seen: Grey’s Ugly, Desperate Idol. But I’ve also never caught House or Prison Break, mostly because I’ve never forgiven Fox for Arrested Development. Or Firefly. Or Undeclared. Or Futurama.

I will add to the “Survivor” group. never ever watched it. Also, I just discovered “Buffy the vampire slayer” last month and am addicted thanks to Netflix.

never watched american idol… and I never will

American Idol, The Apprentice and a handful of other popular reality TV shows. If it weren’t for a friend who liked it, and with whom I watched an episode or two, “CSI” would likely be on the list, too.

Beverly Hills 90210! Don’t know how I missed it. Or Survivor, American Idol, Buffy, 24, Ugly Betty, or Melrose Place.

  • Bubbles

I only watched part of one episode of 24 in its first season because I was taping it for my husband, but the dialogue was so cheesy, I had no further interest in ever watching the show, even if I do like Kiefer Sutherland.

  • Colleen

The OC, Melrose Place, Survivor, Everybody Loves Raymond, CSI

  • Budicem

    Seinfeld, Desperate Housewives, Lost, Friends
