What do you expect for tonight's 'Office' finale?

Jenna_lI don’t know if I’m quite ready for this Office season to end. This kind of snuck up on us, no? Maybe The Office is a lot less obnoxious about hyper-promoting its THIRD TO LAST, SECOND TO LAST, and LAST episodes a la Lost… or maybe I’m just watching the wrong channel… duh, Annie.

Last week, America’s favorite cooking spray/downtrodden secretary Pam (pictured) had me bawling. Tears! At The Office! In the words of Top Model contestant Dionne, What the hell? What about Pam sets me off so? It happened at her art show, too. I shed nearly a shot glass’ worth during that one. Is it Jenna Fischer’s delivery? Her tragic character? Predilection for magenta terrycloth? Everyone’s been flipping out about how Pam suddenly became honest last week. I think she’s always been honest — she just barely ever opens her mouth, and when she does, it’s almost always in reaction to someone else’s problem (or prank). Anyway, I wasn’t feelin’ the love for a long time. Now I’m back. It may have been the Modest Brown Bikini Top Tease ’07.

What do you think will happen on tonight’s hour-long wrap-up? The most obvious solution is to somehow get rid of Karen. There’s no K in Jam (but if you look in the middle of that word, there’s an A); plus, Rashida Jones is in Fox’s new cop show The Rules for Starting Over this fall. I’m just trying to figure out how they’ll swing this. Having Karen win the NYC job over Michael seems too easy. So I’ll rephrase: Which compromising position will Karen find Jim and Pam in to make her run away? My guess: their 6,593rd shared flirtatious eye-dart. It’s always the 6,593rd that sets you off.

It totally sucks the office is over tonight. I look forward to seeing Jim Krasinski every thursday. I hear he dates normal people. http://collegecandy.com/reality/2187

I thought that last week’s episode was a bit contrived, as far as Pam is concerned. And I’d love far less looks at the camera next year.

Last week’s episode was a CLASSIC. It wasn’t until Pam finished her speech to Jim and the rest of her co-workers that I realized I hadn’t been breathing.
I’m with you on the art show ep Annie. I totally cried when Michael showed up and said he liked her drawing of their office building. Beautiful.
Like you, it occurred to me that Karen would simply get the N.Y. job and move away, but I’m hoping the writers will come up with something better. I mean, Karen did move to Scranton, in part, for Jim, so it’d be silly for her to turn around and leave again. That probably leaves us to what you suggested: her catching JAm in some sort of compromising position.
Whatever the case, I’m sure the writers will come up with something fantastic. In my opinion, this the best show on TV right now…not the best comedy…best show.

If someone is going to leave, I bet it will be Karen. I coudn’t stand anyone else leaving the office. But I also think that whoever leaves will still be on the show, just in the other office location, because I hear we will see more of it next season.
ANYWAY, we better see Jim and Pam kiss or something, because I’ve been waiting a whole year!

Maybe Karen will just figure out that she can’t compete with Jim’s feelings for Pam. Karen and Jim looked like they would have some things to discuss after the bus ride home last week. Maybe she’ll just leave but not necessarily for that job.
Oh, and I cried too when Michael genuinely gushed over Pam’s drawing.

I think Jim will get the job offer for the position in NYC and will turn it down because of Pam. Karen will figure it out, because she’s too smart not to do so. And either she’ll be offered the position, or she’ll leave because she knows it’s a hopeless situation and she refuses to put herself through dragging it out and hoping things will change.

The Rules For Starting Over is not a cop show….

  • Jane

My guess is that Jan, who is upset with Michael for breaking up with her, will sabotage Michael’s chances, not that he really had a chance at corporate. Jim, because of his competence and his basketball date with Jan’s boss, will get the job, but realize he doesn’t want it. He won’t tell Karen he forfeit, hoping that she will take off and leave him to figure out his feelings for Pam. Karen will take the job and in a moment of bliss, will ask Jim to go to NYC with her. Jim will be shocked and the cliff hanger will be that we don’t know how he’ll respond.

Great show tonight, but I kept thinking about poor Jenna & her broken back! I hope she’ll be okay for next season, can’t imagine the office without Pammy

  • Marcus

Don’t call her Pammy. So far the mostt satisfying endings of this TV season

I don’t want to spoil it but being in LA (the last time zone to see it) and I DVR’d it, I think it’s okay. That was crazy Ryan getting the offer but I’m wondering is it as assistant to Karen or something. That would be a funny twist. I LOVE Melora Hardin so this was a very special ep for me!

Yeah, the episode was great. You get what you don’t expect.
    Swing low, sweet chariots.

  • Lola

I do think that Karen got the job, and Ryan was saying yes at the end to Karen asking him out.
