Did anyone notice? Just before Jordin made the comment to Simon about Rose Royce being from the 70s; did it look as if she was receiving some type of prompt in her ear mic? Seems to me that someone was feeding her lines.
Justin Guarini, huh? You obviously have great taste (that’s sarcasm if you don’t recognize one!). But I’d take Blake over Guarini anytime.
Am I the only person who noticed Melinda flubbing the opening line of “I’m A Woman?” Forgetting the words to a song is bad enough — but it seems even worse when the performer has already performed the song once. And what was up with NONE of the judges mentioning it?

I’d like to see Blake and Melinda in the finals. Jordin is just going to use her star power at this point to sing at right-to-life concerts, seeing as she already has done so in teh past. I’d rather have someone who isn’t so pro-life on the finale stage
As for the others, Melinda needs to stick to the Tina Turner style music; she is pretty but forgettable whenever she attempts Mariah/Whitney/Celine music. Jordin is a good singer, but I really don’t connect with her; she’s like Whitney/Christina; great singers, boring songs. And Paula was out of it last night, even by her standards!
Blake’s Maroon 5 song, “This Love”, stole the show last night. It moved him directly into the finals. Jordon or Melinda? Probably Melinda because of “NutBush City Limits”. I don’t like it when they do re-runs either. I expect a new song every week and am disappointed when they don’t deliver.
Mindy Doo will sell more records than any idol ever. Whether she wins or not!
Personally I voted for Blake only because he was the only contestant that performed 3 new songs.
Why didn’t the judges point out the ladies’ lack of preparation???
Blake stole the show? I switched the channel!!
Give Jordin some love, people! What happened to everyone? She is spectacular. I agree it’s a little lame to repeat the song, but she killed it, so what does it really matter?
And as for B-b-b-blake, I’m rooting for him as long as I possibly can.
I’m afraid Melinda is going to let me down like Ruben. And Fantasia. And Taylor Hicks. Where are they now? I want someone that is going places. I need a Kelly Clarkson. Jordin and Blake are perfect for that.
Am I the only one that feels Melinda should not be in this competition? Wasn’t she paid to perform in the capacity of a back up singer? In my opinion, that makes her a professional. Yes, she is spot on with every performance, yes she has an incredible voice..but come one..she’s a professional. Sorry, I think if she wins, it’s unfair to the countless talents out there just waiting to be heard.
Melinda forgot some of the words last night, but who cares?? That was the one and only mistake she has made all season. As for forgetting lyrics, Blake spends half his performances spitting into the microphone – he doesn’t even bother with lyrics half the time. As for screetchyMcscreech Jordin, don’t even get me started.
To ns: are you trying to say that Blake skews toward an older crowd? Yeah, my grandmother is a big fan of 311. I have never liked Jordin. She has a decent voice, but I’m sorry, her sticky-sweet persona is just as fake and manufactured as Melinda’s “who me?” attitude, if not more so.
ns — Simon did not pick the arrangement of the song; he picked the song itself. It’s up to the contestant and the musical directors they work with to come up with the arrangement. Had they stuck to the original arrangement, Jordin’s performance probably wouldn’t have been so bad.
Performance of the night – Mindy’s “Nutbush City Limits.”
