Hey Gary, Long time no hear. Guess you are still in LA! Let's not go see Music & Lyrics, just on general principles that whenever "D" (Drew Barrymore) plays a character with brown hair, the movie always tanks... Penny Marshal and Carrie Fisher should direct/write something fantastic for her like Madame Curie Learns to Have an XRay League of Her Own... okay, not so funny. Hope you drop by on the net: www.screenmancer.tv/DelReisman.htm -- you'll dig that piece + Are you still in touch with the pals from Boston edit circles (John et al -- am w/MelloNet!), Ad Astra.
Ryan's mom, that's the dumbest misconception I've ever heard. I hate how everyone assumes Lisa's a cranky reviewer who doesn't like anything that's not the next Brokeback Mountain or The Queen. I actually agree with a few of her reviews, like her recent B grade of 300. This movie doesn't look interesting in the slightest, so I'm not surprised by the negative reviews.
Also Phil, rottentomatoes is filled with a bunch of critic hating fanboys who do nothing but spit unintelligent vitroil towards them. Although I like how the website averages the ratings between critics for a consensus, I can't stand most of that community. They take what critics have to say too seriously.

I didn't expect everyone to love "Lucky You" but the 35 percent fresh rating on rottentomatoes is inexplicable, especially considering the awful "Spider-Man 3" gets to scoot by with 62 percent. The majority of critics were guzzling Spidey Kool-Aid and Bana haterade.

any movie that has been withheld from the public for almost 2 years is bound to be REAL bad! Looks like Drew did this movie when she was on her romantic streak a while ago starting with 50 First Dates.
The funny thing is, I think this movie was made before Debra Messing was pregnant, which was almost 2 years ago. She was still doing Will & Grace!

Sorry to hear the bad reviews - I enjoy both of these actors in almost anything. Hmmm - I have to see Spidey today for my son, but tomorrow I think I'll check this out. What's frustrating is never knowing whether critics are just being crankypants or expect every movie to be Schindler's List with bonus points if it has subtitles. Lisa S. hated it so it must be entertaining!
