In the group hug, Chris did say something about the “damn twelve-string.” In his interview at mtv.com, he said that when Ryan had him and Blake stand up, he saw the band getting ready and bringing forward a twelve-string guitar, which he knew was only used in his song. So at that point he knew he was about to go (he also said in the interview something like “come on, I knew Blake wasn’t going”). Awww.
Great job Whitbaby…your tongue in cheek, out of the box take on what goes down during the taping was totally on point. You always make me laugh.
Who thinks Blake and Chris are lovers?
Great article! Shame that we’ll never know any more about “Little Richard” now that Chris is gone.
Loved your write up Whitney. Sometimes your blog entries leave me more than a bit confused, but you really brought it home w/ this one.
I just heard that Jon Bon Jovi was upset and refused to ever return to American Idol because LaKisha busted one of those fat, juicy farts right in his face. Can anyone confirm that?
Great article! Nice to see a review with humor that isn’t malicious. Nice balance. Great ending. I too was disappointed in Bon Jovi song, and I’m a huge fan of the Bands. I thought the one that shouldve gone home was Robin Thicke after that dreadful performance.
Thanks, Whitney. Great article. You’re great!
Whitney, you and Michael are the best! I love reading you’re columns.
Good article. I, too, was disappointed with Bon Jovi’s song. It was, as Randy would say, “just a’ight”. Love them and Jon is still hot after all these years…like a fine wine…aged to perfection! I really hated to see Phil go. I really like him and will definitely buy a CD by him. Jordin is my fave. She’s got the whole package…voice, charisma, charm, bubbly personality and beauty. I thought Melinda killed Bon Jovi’s song. LaKisha, for the first time since her Dream Girl’s song, really put her heart and soul into her performance…sounds like she knows about being done wrong by her man! Blake was good. Chris was horrendous and should never have made it this far. “Timberfake” is a good moniker for him…not that I like “Timberreal” either…
Great recap Ms. Pastorek. I sorta kinda enjoyed Blake’s rendition of “Bad Name,” and being a pop music whore, I would probably buy the bubble-gum infused record he is forced to make if he wins. However, I think Melinda is far, far, far more developed as a singer, both emotionally, and well… technically, so I guess I’d rather hear her over Blake for my 9 dollars and ninety-nine cents that I pay to iTunes. In other news, my stalker cap is planted firmly on my head upon hearing that Slezak is in town this weekend for Derby. Watch out Mr. Slezak. I’ve been known to give out drive-by huggings….
