I wish it wasn’t so, but it had to happen: On Dancing With the Stars, John and MVP of Life Edyta got the boot last night. Obviously, John should have outlasted the less-talented Billy Ray Cyrus, but that dude’s got fans, and you don’t mess with country music fans.
This week’s elimination show was waaaaay more entertaining than usual. We reveled in the open-shirted brilliance of Louis Van Amstel Light and Alec Mazo’s adorable troupe of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Adults dancing kids. And Tom Bergeron shared a bed with two men. And the somewhat haunting Meat Loaf showed up to scare away any remaining specter of Heather Mills and what Billy Ray might call her "veganocracy."
But what truly upped last night’s game was Dancecenter, the SportsCenter spoof hosted by national treasure Kenny Mayne, season 2 fave Jerry Rice, and the ever-crotchety Len Goodman. These segments were hysterical, featuring animated scribbling (Joey’s butt: "BIG!!" Apolo’s goatee: "??") and stat boxes (pictured). Kenny’s deadpan aggression — like when he barked at Len, "Answer the question!" — is exactly the type of wink-wink commentary this show needs. Not to mention, he and Jerry sported diamond-dotted shirts without the slightest acknowledgment. Bring Dancecenter back! Who’s with me? And what did you think about last night’s elimination?

Forget bringing Dancecenter back… can we get rid of Samantha and make Kenny a full time co-host? I think he’d be great doing the post-dance interviews? The man is seriously funny and I thought the Dancecenter segments were the best thing they’ve ever done a kickoff show.
Dancecenter was hilarious. Meatloaf was meaty.
As for the elimination, I’m going to be really immature and say that next week, when it’s time for Billy Ray to dance, I’m changing the channel. I don’t even want to acknowledge his existence on the show.

Totally agree–Dancecenter was hysterical! I hope it becomes a regular feature, maybe with Bruno next time. As for John’s elimination, it was only a matter of time.

Yeah…Dance Center was pretty funny. Better than Meatloaf anyways. I was stunned to see J-Rat go before Billy Ray Cyrus. Not that I’m a Billy-hater, I think he’s got a great attitude but I’m shocked he is in the top 5 now. I better get calling next week in case he puts Apolo into the bottom 2 next week.
Don’t usually watch the results show – too much garbage filler (Meatloaf?? WTF?), but happened to flip past when “DanceCenter” was on and LOL at K. Mayne and the graphics. Oh, Len and Jerry were also funny.
BRC MUST STOP. I think Karina would agree. I DVR so I can FF through his portion of the show – too painful to watch.

John & Edyta getting kicked to the curb sucks! They’re both so nice, had class and he danced circles around BRC. If we all pretty much agree that Billy Ray needs to get the old heave ho then who in blazes is voting for this guy?? He apparently went to the Master P School of Non-Ballroom Dancing and his fan base isis prolonging the agony for him. And us. Love, love, love Joey! He’s an amazing performer, funny, talented and insane…my kinda guy. Don’t care for Laila’s pushiness (if that’s the right word), Apolo is great (and cute as a speckled pup) and Ian did much better last night. The judges need to lay off him for a while. Loved the Dance Center spot and as far as I’m concerned, they can put a big, fat no-can-do on the Kimmel dancing at home thing.

I love Joey!! He’s awesome. Cliff, he was so sweet, but it was def his time, but yeah I agree BRC should be out already, I feel so bad for the professionals, getting paired up with people that are just plain duds. Joey & Apollo def are going to be competing for the top!
LOVED Dancecenter. Kenny’s “then why’d you give them such crappy scores?” was one of my favorite moments of the night. Only thing better than that: getting to see Maks and Laila again for the encore. Was Maks this hot last season with Willa?? I think Laila brings his sexy back.
I’ve never watched DWTS, but knowing that Kenny Mayne is involved might get me to change my mind. Probably not, but he is that funny and good.

Is Edyta leaving the show after this season? I can’t remember exactly what Tom said to her after their elimination, but it was something that led me to believe she was. I really hope she’s not, though!

The only ray of sunshine was seeing Billy Ray in the bottom two. Could this mean he’ll be packing up his heel-billy duds next week? I can only imagine he’ll put in even less work for Monday’s show and just let Karina dance solo while he plays the banjo.
DanceCenter was sooo funny! Kenny was a perfect antidote to Len’s fussiness – liked Jerry alot more on this than when he was dancing. I look forward to the Jimmy Kimmel spots each week even though seeing a shirtless Tom spoon Guillermo was almost chickabawbaw creepy! MOST important – what did Tom mean when he thanked Edyta for her participation on the show? She cannot leave – I remain fascinated with her and she is on my husband’s laminated ‘list’.
Oh and bye John!! You were a trouper and we’ll miss you! Why can’t DWTS show a little more of the good-bye hugging at the end of the elimination show? That’s how I suss out who I would want to spend time with and who is a beyotch.
DanceCenter was the best part other than wathcing Laila & Maks. Keep it and drop the Kimmel bit. BRC should have been gone.

Maks & Laila may be, lb. for lb., the most attractive couple Ive ever seen on DWTS. Tho Id never think of putting them together, everytime I see them Im struck by how good they both look.
Which brings me to Edyta, one half of the hottie alert that is Edyta & Alec. I love them both, sad Alec went so early. Edyta deserves some sort of DWTS trophy on her own: Aside from Joey Laurence shes had J-Ratz, G. Hamilton & Evander HOLYFIELD!! Not to mention Big P ssy! They must hate her.
