At first glance, the video for Daughtry’s "Home" (this season’s American Idol sendoff-montage theme) could be dismissed as a hastily assembled, budget-conscious effort, what with Read the full post.

Somebody please find me EVIDENCE of Chris Daughty being egotistical and ungrateful, because I haven’t seen it. Being serious about your music and your family doesn’t mean that you are an egotist.
I miss No Doubt. Gwen has made nothing but sucky albums since she’s gone solo.
I definitely preferred Gwen with No Doubt. I don’t really care for any of the songs off her latest album and the songs I liked from L.A.M.B. were radio-played into the ground. However I still listen to Rock Steady and much enjoy.

The only evidence of Daughtry’s ego i see is the giant tattoo of his name on his back (which is the name of his band also) and the time he got voted off Idol. Seriously, did you see the look on his face? I thought he was going to chew Seacrest’s face off
I am so glad that Gwen seems to be going toward the more melodic end of the spectrum with her single choices from Sweet Escape. Post-”Wind It Up,” which struck me as a fluke attempt to cash in on the tail end of the thumpy, atonal “Hollaback” trend, I have approved of her choices. My dream selections for 4th and 5th single would be “Early Winter” and “Wonderful Life,” but I feel like “Yummy” is going to sneak in there, and based on the comments here there will definitely be a market for it. It just won’t be me. I’m really happy with her CD though, for the most part.
I love Gwen in both No Doubt and her solo career. Love Angel Music Baby is a definite guilty pleasure of mine, but I just cannot bring myself to want to buy or much less like The Sweet Escape. It’s just all the reject songs that didn’t make it onto Love Angel Music Baby. I want to like it so much as I think Gwen Stefani is an awesome female artist in a world of cutesy pop-tart artists, but it’s just not good. But I’m super psyched for her return w/No Doubt!!!
I can’t believe she is releasing this song…there are so much better songs on the album…it just boggles my mind
Different strokes for different folks and makes for a very interesting world. Sorry some of you don’t care for Daughtry, the man, but there are thousands and thousands of us that do. We love the man and the band. And on a personal note, I have met Chris several times and have seen him smile at every encounter. He’s always been very friendly, gracious to me and acts like a normal guy with a job to do that he wants done right. Nothing wrong with that. Call it ego or being serious; I call it dedication. Daughtry rocks because he’s real. Two concerts later, I’m still singing the same tune and love watching Chris and the guys soar in the spotlight just like the stars they are. Love them!
To Webchick: You said it all! AMEN!
Sorry lady. I like Chris and bought his CD, but he does have an ego. That has nothing to do with dedication. A healthy self-esteem is a good and necessary thing, but arrogance is another story. Right here on EW it was reported that he, after signing some autographed pictures, asked:”Where did they get those cheesy pictures.?” He could have waited until he was out of earshot of those to whom he signed the pictures for. Just because I like someone does not mean I accept everything they do.
