Um, Jennifer LOOKED great in her performance but she SOUNDED terrible. I like her and she was great with the contestants but she can’t sing live at all.

In the name of all that is holy, PLEASE someone kill this karaoke show. Aren’t there enough no talents on TV already?

  • Monique

i cant believe how much Jennifers one appearance on Idol has convinced people (or maybe just EW?) that she’s now a great singer & great person. um, okay.
AS for Simon, I REALLY cant believe how much is invested in his opinion simply because he’s so stingy with compliments. He might be hard to please, but Im not sure hes the arbiter of good taste or musis. there are many times when randy actually gives much more detailed advice than he does or catches references he has no idea about, and im reminded this is the teletubby guy from across the pond.

Shirley, you’re killing me–what song did Pink do?! I’ve gotta know! I’m hoping it was “U + Ur Hand” but somehow I think it wasn’t…

You are obviously a sensitive person, and it’s wonderful that you are trying to put a stop to all the negativity, I know these boards can be brutal. But your comment about our society going backwards is just plain wrong. We are not. We are moving forward all the time – we don’t tolerate people getting lynched anymore, we don’t have separate drinking fountains anymore, women are no longer considered the property of men, I could go on and on. Yes, some of us say mean things anonymously on message boards, but when public figures say mean things in a public forum they get fired, like Don Imus did. Our society is not so bad, you could do a lot worse. Stay positive!

Jennifer Lopez, best guest performance so far!

  • Rashaan

Jennifer Lopez was the best and most credible this season on idol and her performance was incredible….she showed the idols how to get it done. I was not surprised but very much impressed by her performance. I am going to buy the album tomorrow!! Way to go JLO!!

  • sam

JLo was a lot of noise and explosions and no substance. She really can’t sing in any language, although she is a good dancer. Her tendency to think too highly of herself and act like a diva will catch up with her again-one night is not a career.

  • BJohnson

J.Lo must have heard Simon wrong, yeah she was good but I have still not seen an Idol perfomance since last minute performer Prince came and ROCKED it with just 2 dancers and a WHOLE lotta talent. That’s been the best Idol moment I’ve had. I think he meant this season, especially coming off of the Buble’ train wreck that was last week.

  • Mozz

la JLO, was the best judge, the most charming interview and just a joy to watch… I cannot stop talking about her, thinking about her, singing that song… which was in spanish, so I have no idea what i’m singing. Voice or No Voice, that is one ICON in the making. and that was funneled through the tv screen, i cant even imagine what it would have been like in person.

  • To Mozz

You are scary, man! Get back to normal routine and stop obsessing about the JLO.
    Your weirding me out…

Thanks, Shirley. That was a nice write-up. Nice to know that people are finally seeing what Lopez fans have known all along. There are many people who were impressed and surprised by her personality, but she was just being her ol’ herself.

  • Suzy

I totally agree with Simon, GREAT performance by Jennifer Lopez! LOVED it.. and I really do feel it was one of the best guest spots ever on Idol. Great show, great judges and a great time… STILL have that song in my head.. LOL!
