Rise and shine, PopWatchers! I’m sorry you had vivid, terrifying nightmares about Josh Groban, but get a grip and let’s talk last night’s Dancing With the Stars results show! First up: Ciara and a troupe of backup dancers I wish had been whacked off the floor by Maksim’s masterfully wielded cape — too bad they didn’t get to perform in the same number. Survivor showed up, "liiiiiive," to sing "Eye of the Tiger" while the pros danced the paso doble — the closeups on Mr. Lead Singer of Survivor were kind of painful, but I did feel a little bad for him because no one in the audience clapped during his song unless the dancers did something pretty. Jimmy Kimmel did the same exact skit he did last week. And then my DVR — that little turd disguised as a sleek silver box — cut out. So I sucked it up, went online, and found out that not only did I miss a numerologist and an aura reader (uhh…) but Shandi Finnessey and Brian Fortuna got the boot. Sounds about right. But what do you think? Should another star have gone instead?

This was good. Shandi and Brian didn’t do anything for me. Same as Billy Ray & Karina and Clyde & Elena.
What was with Brian’s face? The way he looked at the camera without any expression was creepy.
I love Survivor but I think they need to retire.
Roy! Roy Roy ROY! That was all I could think of.
I thought Leeza should have gone home before Shandi. Has anyone seen the “missing moment” from Ians dance yet?
Looking at last week’s performances, Clyde should have not only been in the bottom two, but gone home. Shandi should not have been there. Her jive was good and I’m not a fan of her.
Annie, you didn’t miss anything with the numerologist and clairvoyant. A total waste of airtime. If ABC is really that hard up to fill an hour, they definitely need to scale back the results show to 30 minutes.
Oh yeah! What was with the montage about the suspense of waiting for the elimination. That was a bunch of phooey. Another group dance would have been better.
In addition, it was great to see Boyz II Men in the house supporting Joey Fatone. He should become their new “BASS” after the competition ends–and lead them into a new phase as ‘Men II Middle-Agers’. Maybe ‘Men II Seniors’?
Tonya, they showed a slow motion, grey close-up on Ian’s steps last night. He messed up, but it wasn’t that deep. Judges just forgot to take their medication, I guess.
Thanks Jen. Sometimes on the recaps I don’t pay attention. The judging was awful this week the more I think about it. I could list how, but I already did and ran out of room. So I deleted. At least there isnt a campaign to keep the worst dancer on the show.
What was with Survivor? That totally wasn’t the same lead singer they used to have back in their glory days. He sounded awful and looked even worse.
The Shield premiered last night, and this is what we’re subjected to? Aaargh.
they were very got at dancing
Maybe they can take a cue from Idol and cut their recap show to a half hour. Shandi did improve, but she wasn’t cutting it. I’ll miss Brian though – gotta support my fellow Philly peeps!
Kelly in Chicago, that was Survivor’s original lead singer last night. The guy you remember was the replacement (who sang all of their hits except for “Eye of the Tiger”).
I don’t understand why Heather Mills hasn’t totally been ousted off the show yet. Did anyone else see the interview where Mrs. Golddigger herself claimed she’s being villified by the media for “falling in love”? So bad it was kinda’ good.
Wrong. That guy is the third lead singer. The original, Jimi Jamison had stringy honey blonde hair. And I thought that the new guy could not reach the high notes. It was as if he was trying to force the extention on “ëye”. Over all It was a good program.
EP, we don’t know all the facts of the divorce, only McCartney and Mills know what really went on. Though you can’t argue that Paul has a temper. A while ago when Linda was alive they went on tour with his band. Linda was a fair singer (listen to “Admiral Halsey”)compared to Yokp Ono, but I digress. When Paul played his signature song “Hey Jude” Linda was off key on the Na, Na,Na, Na’s. Paul got up from his Piano and turned off her microphone. A New York City radio station got a hold of the live recording and played it as a joke.
Perhaps Mills had issues, perhaps McCartney did, and they clashed. It happens. I also believe that he married too soon.
I’m glad Shandi’s gone. I thought she was kind of a sloppy dancer, and she annoyed me too. Though, how Clive and Billy Ray continue to escape the bottom two every week is beyond me. Also, was anyone else totally surprised Leeza was in the bottom two? I mean, I personally think she’s kind of boring, but she’s not bad, and she got really high scores on technique from the judges. I actually just put up a poll on this on MegaBuzz, if anyone wants to vote: http://www.megabuzz.com/Events/Detail915.aspx
Way to make Shandi and Brian feel lower than they already do by playing “Careless Whisper” for their final dance. “I’m never gonna dance again…..”. I do love Leeza, she just seems like such a nice and likeable person. But I do think that she needs to spice things up a little.
Stephanie,
Totally agreed that McCartney got over anxious about re marrying. As for my beef with Mills, it’s not so much that they got divorced as the way she acted in the immediate aftermath. But you are right in that I don’t know what really happened to cause that split.
Damn who thought there were so many Survivor experts out there.
Survivor: Dead
Shandi: Buh-bye.
Leeza: BORING!
Billy Ray and Clyde: Time’s a comin!
Heather: Charity worker is now recipient of said charity by the judges.
Am I serioulsy the only one who can’t stand Laila Ali? She looks like such a B($)*%CH!
I was so mad Monday night when Shandi and Brian went home. I think they were great. I know for a fact that the reason why Shandi didn’t make it all the way is, women across America are just very jealous of a tall, thin, beautiful young lady. Oh yes, they feel the jealousy when they see a beautiful woman. What is up with pretty girls that can dance always leaving the show? Stacey Keibler (in season two) got third and she was the best there was. I’m sorry but Jerry Rice was an aweful dancer and should not have got second before Stacey, and Drew sure as heck should not of won either. Stacey was great, and so was Shandi. It just makes me mad that Billy Ray and Clyde are still there. I mean lets get real everyone, do you really think Clyde or Billy Ray can dance? I certainly don’t think so. One of them should have went Monday night, not Shandi. Please everyone, pick a good dancer this time, I mean afterall this is a dance competition, not a popularity contest.:)
I wouldn’t say Laila looks b—-y; just that she doesn’t take any crap from anyone. And that she would kick the a– of someone who gave her said crap.
“I’m sorry you had vivid, terrifying nightmares about Josh Groban, but get a grip and let’s talk”
I beg your pardon! He’s my favorite singer, very talented, and the extended applause by the audience indicated they loved him too.
OMG Thump–why does it have to be a jealousy issue? If she was African-American you would say it was a race issue. The only issue for me is that my eyes were not glued to the TV while she and Brian were dancing. They did nothing for me. Like I mentioned earlier….neither does Billy Ray or Clyde. Get off your soapbox.
I loved Shandi and Brian, they were funny and lovable. I want Heather & Clyde out! Nothing personal, but they are not as entertaining as the others.
WORD — I wouldn’t consider a dream about Josh Groban a nightmare.
What was up with the bad camera work AGAIN last night? Really, is the director/lead cameraperson on vacay?
oooh, yeah. I forgot about that, when they had the camera on Leeza and her partner when they were talking about Clyde I think it was. And apparantly none of the couples could hear the announcements. “who’s that now?”
Why is it that obviously strong women always get labeled as b*tches? Laila has been nothing but pleasant. There’s no need to call her names.
Shandi needed to go last week. Not only could she not dance but she didn’t display any of the charm and personality that’s keeping Clyde and Billy Ray around.
I was disappointed in Ciara’s performance. I didn’t expect great things from her but her dancing is her strongest attribute and I expected more than a rehash of her video.

Exactly! Thank you. I’d welcome a dream about him!
THUMP: You are way off…If America is so jealous off pretty blonds then how the heck did Stacey make it so far in season two? i think her partner did her in…freak boy with the drawn in eyebrows and the I’m so hot” attitude….slimy
