'Idol' Cliché Watch: 'Dawg' vs. 'Pitchy' vs. 'Honest(ly)' -- Diana Ross week

Categories: American Idol

Well, let’s just call "dawg" this season’s Mindy Doo — the word is off to a major lead after this week, with "pitchy" making a Gina Glocksen-esque showing and our newest, Simon-ized contender "honest" (which can include "honestly") squawkin’ up a big goose-egg like Brandon and Sanjaya put together…

Top 12: Diana Ross week
Dawg — 6*
Pitchy — 2
Honest — 0

SEASON TOTAL:
Dawg — 6
Pitchy — 2
Honest — 0

*Randy opened the show with what a half-hearted "dawg" that came out more of a "doll" and has been ruled ineligible.

And cabaret. You HAVE to include cabaret. What about karaoke?
Still, Dawg will take the top prize without a doubt.

  • Big Momma

And Paula, Boo Hoo, you are a BEAUTIFUL girl!!

  • Where Y’at, Dawlin’?

    Can’t leave out “You’re amazing”
or any similar adverb (?) Been a while since grammar school, y’all!

“Appalling” has to be up there in the top five.

  • Peggy

“You nailed it” and “that was the bomb, Dude”…really quite happy to hear those. To be fair, there are only a few adjectives when you letting someone down, so they’ve invented some of thier own.

Why don’t you add “Hey, how ya doin’?” to Randy’s list…he OFTEN says it before he says it was “pitchy”!

I’m confused why “honest” is at 0…I know Simon has said on several occasions, “May I be honest?”

  • Marshall

I am starting to hate Randy Jackson.

The season total starts from only the Top 12? Is that right?
