It was a great episode. Bravo. Everybody complains and of course you will never make everyone happy. But you all keep watching….why? Because we love it. That was some great stuff last night….like a trainwreck you knew was coming, but you couldn’t help but enjoy the ride. Dinner party disaster. I wish there were more than 12 episodes!

Phantom – I don’t get it rap music or line dancing but I don’t feel the need to go to various website that support such things to tell them as much. Heck, why DO the French love Jerry Lewis and the Germans heart David Hasselhoff? Who knows? But many do and more power to ‘em. With that in mind, if you don’t ‘lesbian-based show compelling or even necessary television’ then don’t watch it. Obviously others do. And, it doesn’t make you homophobic; it just makes your post here an unnecessary waste of your time (not meant to be snarky, btw). I, and thousands of others, DO like this show (at least this season) and DO find it to be compelling, which is why it has been renewed for a 5th season. So, were just like the Hasselhoff-luvin’ Germans. Oh, and I didn’t ever particularly like “Queer as Folk”, but I fully understand and respect those who do. I just chose not to watch after a while or tell others who did like the show that (I felt) they were wrong. Peace.

chicks that talk with their hands is hot. I thought the fight between Jodi and the other girl was awesome! Love the way the camera pulled back to show Bette’s face while they fought. Seriously, whenever Jodi gets angry with her hands is super cool…

somebody said, everyone complains, but we are still watching… I’ve been thinking that I kind of feel obligated to watch this show.. Its not that I really like it, or think it is an excellent series like Six Feet Under and many other examples.. I like it sometimes, it has its funny moments.. but mostly I think I feel obligated because I am lesbian and it is one of the only shows to portray that in any way… I keep hoping that it will be better than it is. The sense of direction hasn’t been there throughout, and that is disappointing. Too bad this season isn’t its first.

I didn’t say that I didn’t respect it. And, yes, you are being snarky. Are all lesbians snarky like you? NO I’M KIDDING!!! Smile for me, okay?

    Phantom — :-)

Trust me, Leigh, if I had something better to do with my day other than be a giant blowhard on entertainment blogs, I’d probably be doing it. Don’t take my semi-moronic missives personally. I comment on everything on here – even if I know nothing about the topic. I’m that narcissistic – even to the point of criticizing other narcissics. If opinions are liked a-holes, I’m so well armed that I would appear to have digestive problems.
And I would pay $100 to see you line dance…

If there is anything worse than Jenny, it would be Jenny with a pet monkey! I can’t believe that innane dinner conversation about straight women prefering horses to monkeys. As a lesbian, I always wanted a horse and really dislike monkeys.
I really like the Jodi character and Cybill Shephard’s character. They have really improved the season. I can understand Bette getting upset at her sister falling off the wagon and Jodi was correct in calling Bette a control freak.
As far as Kristanna Loken not getting along with her castmates, I didn’t even know who Loken was! In that link she said the “L-Word” was “the most difficult cast” she has worked with. What other casts has she worked with?

  • Nell

Kristanna Loken was the new Terminator in Terminator 3. Plus I believe she was in Bloodrayne. Very sad she won’t be returning if that is the case. Curious who is bitchy on the L word set. Haha!

  • Leigh

Phantom: No harm, no foul. We’re all good.
Kristanna Loken is also coming up in Painkiller Jane on the SciFi Channel. I’ll miss her on L Word and am sorry she’s not returning next season. She’s hella sexy and a surprisingly good actress in a roll about as far from what she’s been thus far tapped to do – action chick.
And to all below who bemoaned relentless Tudors promos on ShowTime: AMEN! Uhg! It wouldn’t be nearly as bad if they’d started the continuous promotions in mid-Feb or even early March but they’ve been going on since around January (perhaps before? I only get ShowTime for L Word) and are maddening. Are the same people responsible for these promos also the ones behind the sledgehammer techniques NBC used for The Black Donnelley’s? Because those were also very off-putting. I refuse to watch both shows simply because the assault has been too great. No one wants to date the desperate girl.

Nope sorry mate but don’t agree with you re: jodi and bette. I loved Bette for who she was, Tina accepted her and was a complement to her personality and the audience misses alphabette. I found Jodi to be a shrew. There is nothing malicious about not wanting your ‘love’ left out of the conversations with your friends even when Jodi didn’t seem to care less about conversing with your friends, or not wanting your sister to sink into the depths of drunken despair that had been such a big part of her life. There was no other episode the showed me the difference between what Bette had with Tina and what she has with Jodi. Jodi had no concern about Kit, only her own discomfort at the party when big mean Bette tried to include her. Boohoo. Anyone who has dealt with alcoholism knows where what the real issue was.

i think Jodi was acting mean & self centered. I’m no big fan of Bette but she did try really hard to make Jodi comfortable. I’m nowhere near deaf but do have some trouble hearing & i always appreciate when someone repeats what I may have missed.
