although m night’s movies are flawed, i cant help admiring them for what they are: movies that are not REALLY about monsters or aliens or ghosts or what not, but movies with complex character development and morals. even lady in the water (sucked) was TRYING to say something, and i think every other movie by him is very good. ill be seeing this opening day

Who are you and why are you stealing money from EW? The Village centered on a strong female lead who overcomes her fear of the world outside to undertake a mission of mercy to save the life of her friend. Not sure which movie you were watching, but The Village was really about the conflict Ivy Walker overcomes. Maybe if you knew what you were talking about, you would maintain a shred of credibility…

I agree with Nikki 100%. and YES, i will be there when his new film hits….why does America keep supporting remakes when true, original directors such as MNS keep producing solid original material?

I don’t know how he even became a director. I’ve seem a few of his movies thinking they will be better then the last but every one of them has sucked. The plot is always bad.

The funny thing is I kind of wanted to see Lady in the Water until I read that article about him in EW, where he came accross like a big baby who threw a tantrum when the studios didn’t give him his way. And then when they offered him a really fair compromise because they thought he earned it, he told them to get lost. What a moron.

He’s also making Nickelodeon’s Avatar into a movie, so since he’s doing a kiddie flick and an r-rated that should balance out any possibility that this one will “damage his brand”.
I’m excited about Avatar, but I couldn’t care less as to how many lousy thrillers he cranks out. I liked the Sixth Sense, but I’ve not been impressed since then.

Uwe Boll’s not just a bad director, he’s also a p*nk ass*d b*tch and a straight up p*ssy (and I don’t mean “pussycat”). He totally ducked me and any of this critics who actually stood a fighting chance against him in the ring so that he could beat a bunch of 2nd rate losers onscreen.
Awful movie director UWE BOLL still owes me my 5 rounds AND his movies STINK! Come and get the azz whupin’you deserve, Uwe!
Now, if only Mr. Boll would read this so we could get our fight on I’d be a happy man.

MNS still owes me $10 for THE VILLAGE. His SIGNS bored me. Don’t even get me started with LADY IN THE WATER. His downright one of the worst directors, way up there with Uwe Bol. If MNS truly wants to make the majority of people in the world happy, then please stop torturing people by not making any movie ANYMORE. Go help the poor and sick instead. It’s a whole lot more noble and repectable.

No, I’m not ready for another helping of good ol’M. Night. He had up until “The Village”. “The Sixth Sense” and “Unbreakable” were awesome to the point of making one cry. “Signs” was enough to scare the Devil himself. But “The Village” was awful, and “Lady in the Water” was even worse. He’s batting .600, and that’s only good enough for baseball…
