Whoever is programming CBS’s Monday night line-up between the hours of 8:00 and 10:00 p.m. is on a sleazy man-whore roll! Every sitcom on that night currently has a sleazy man-whore as a mascot/breakout character — except for one, The Class, and that show aired what was most likely its series finale Monday night. How I Met Your Mother has the metrosexual horn-dog (and. in my opinion. the best of ‘em) Barney Stinson. (Neil Patrick Harris, upper left). Two and a Half Men has the sleazy man-whore who started the trend, Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen, upper right). And Rules of Engagement has the indiscriminate skirt-chaser Russell, who apparently can’t even commit to a last name (David Spade, lower left). Next week sees the return of The New Adventures of Old Christine; do we want to place bets on a new character showing up on Christine’s stoop? Perhaps a confirmed bachelor who is a bit full of himself, with great one-liners known as the town’s ladies man? And who should play this new man-whore?

Why do you say it was likely the season finale for The Class? I really like that show!
Barney is the bees knees, but 2.5 dudes is on at the same time as other shows I watch. And Spade? Why is that unfunny and uninsightful “insider” still on tv? He was okay as Chris Farley’s sidekick. Without Farley, Spade is like a bag of crushed nuts with no sundae to drop them on, which is not much fun at all
Charlie Harper is not a “character.” Charlie Harper is Charlie Sheen writ large.
I like “The Class” too :-/
I agree with you Ep Sato, Spade is NOT funny. And I hate his new face. He’s had alot of work done. Not pretty!
I just went to confirm on CBS.com, last night’s The Class was the season finale.
Spade is better on Comedy Central’s Showbiz Show. NPH is the best by far.
I am thinking Steven Weber on Christine. I love him on Studio 60, more than on Wings. Unfortunely, I don’t think 60 isn’t going to be around next year, so why not give this guy a shot?
Maybe they’ll just make Christine’s brother Matthew more of a man-whore. I guess since Andy Richter has his own show starting this week, we can say goodbye to Sad Dad.
I love “The Class” too, I think is such a funny show. Hopefully it was season finally and not series finally. Please CBS give The Class another chance!!
The Barnacle RULES! He is awe…wait for it…some!!!!!!
The Class is the best show out of those three– and somehow it gets canned, while the other crappy shows are still on.
I love The Class, I am sad to hear that it may be canceled. I think that the characters are so funny, I look forward each Monday to watching it and How I Met Your Mother. How sad.
Sorry but I don’t buy NPH as a heterosexual, let alone a ladies man- he’s too flaming to pull it off. Kind of like Nathan Lane trying to play it straight- too much of a stretch.
noneya, if NPH hadn’t ‘come out’, as it were, you probably wouldn’t be making those comments at all. And he is hardly “flaming.”
