For a brief moment last year, the Internets thought they had found a celebrity coupling more shocking, more buzzworthy than TomKat or Brangelina. But no one knew what to make of the photo last June of Rush Limbaugh locking lips with Mary Lynn Rajskub (24). Neither did Rajskub. But she gamely showed up at the 2007 U.S Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen this weekend to offer an explanation.
Though most people only know Rajskub as CTU techie and Jack Bauer Fan Club President Chloe O’Brian, the actress still performs stand-up regularly in L.A., and was in the casts of HBO’s Mr. Show and, two years ago, Fox’s short-lived Kelsey Grammer Presents: The Sketch Show. In fact, it was much more of a stretch for Rajskub to have been speaking at that Heritage Foundation panel on terrorism with Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff. ”Do they know I’m not really an expert on terrorism, or really on anything at all?” she asked. But there she was. And there was Limbaugh. All over her.
As long as everyone else was imagining her and Limbaugh together, she figured she might as well imagine it, too. ”What if I did?” she pondered. ”What’s it to you?” She then spun an elaborate tale in which she drunkenly e-mails Limbaugh to ask him out, and goes live on NPR’s Fresh Air to defend her relationship against a very critical Terry Gross, only to find out afterward that Limbaugh already has a girlfriend. ”It’s really weird to be rejected by someone you didn’t really want,” she joked. ”It burns.” Ditto that.

Wow, MLR looks gorgeous in that photo. And an awesome sense of humor to boot. I’m becoming a bigger fan all the time.
Man, she kicks ass!.. it’s only fitting that Fox cast her as CTU’s bad-ass chick resident.. i think i’m in love.. oh wait, i’m gay.. nevermind.
she also had a small part in sweet home alabama, and was hilarious with that southern accent “that was just pillowtawk” lol love it
MaryLynn gets sexier every time I see her, both on “24″ and elsewhere. And she was a riot on Jay Leno a few weeks ago–had Bill Cosby in stitches, too!
It’s amazing how the funniest woman on television is on the most serious show on television. She rocks on 24 and I’d love to see her standup televised.
