Our weekly count of the epic battle between Randy Jackson’s (and, occasionally, Paula Abdul’s) verbal tics "dawg" and "pitchy" continues…
Top 20: The Guys
Dawg — 4*
Pitchy — 3
Top 20: The Gals
Dawg — 2
Pitchy — 3
SEASON TOTAL:
Dawg — 21
Pitchy — 17
*Two "dawgs" from Idol contestant Phil Stacey ruled ineligible.

Do all variations of the word “pitchy” count? Such as “your pitch was kind of flat”?
What are the odds on this? Can we get an over/under next week for the whole season?
“your pitch was kind of flat” would not count. being “pitchy” means that the singer went from being flat to sharp to flat to sharp throughout the song. randy is not overusing the word. these year’s contestants truly suck that much.
Randy may not be over-using the word “pitchy” but he IS using it incorrectly. At least when he says “Dawg” it’s in the right context.
I think maybe the phrase “blew it out the box” should be added to this in light of Randy’s insistence on adding yet another overused/under-meaning catchphrase to the Idol lexicon.
People really need to quit focusing on Paula as the annoying judge. Paula actually made me laugh this week. Randy makes me want to arrange a play date between a tire iron and his face.
How about his new word: “Corny”?
