NBC announced today that Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham will be starring in a reality show set to debut this summer. The news pleases me to no end, because said show will no doubt be awesome! Vix and her husband, soccer star David Beckham, have recently relocated to Los Angeles, and the six-episode series, which will be produced by Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment, will be a "fascinating personal view of what being ‘Posh’ truly represents."
Most Americans probably remember the Spice Girls (who were managed by Fuller before he launched the worldwide Idol franchise) and vaguely recall that Posh was the one with the bob cut, little black dress, and super-serious face. Her super-serious face hasn’t changed (judging by this photo, taken yesterday as she shopped for groceries in Beverly Hills); actually, it’s gotten more serious. That face, with its frozen pout, and those skinny, skinny legs are pretty much all we ever see here, so… you all must be wondering, as senior writer Gary Susman did, how a reality show about some British "has-been" could be of any interest to American audiences. Does the pout actually speak? What exactly is her purpose in life? What is she like, on the inside?
To partially answer these questions, I provide you with the following links:
• Vix gets interviewed by pint-sized Ant and Dec.
• The Beckhams get grilled by Ali G.
• Posh has a website, which includes such gems as "news," a "blog," and "vbtv" (29 September is a must see).
I know I’ll be watching this summer, but will you be there with me, PopWatchers?

I’ll be there for sure. My fiancé loves to watch tv shows about the rich, shallow and good looking. The Beckhams have got more than enough of those three qualities.
PS the video for “say you’ll be there” is worth re watching. Whenever one Spice Girl sings, you can see the other four in the background doing cool “action” poses that fit their character name.
You have got to be kidding! I Have NO interest whatsoevr in her or her soccer playing husband
No. Well, maybe the first episode. Since when is she called ‘Vix’? There is a funny clip of Jon Stewart interviewing her and another Spice a few years ago. It’s worth looking for.
Personally, the most provocative tidbit I got out of this item (and the biggest shocker) was…the fact that she shops for her own groceries…I thought she might have Baby or Sporty do that for her.
Not bloody likely. Posh Spice and some British supermodel…I mean soccer player? Dorkalicious.
Just had to weigh in that Posh is slender, not skinny. You say po-tay-to and I say po-tah-to…
I’d watch it. The clips with Little Ant and Dec were hilarious, and she’s not a has been. She’s still a celebrity. But Baby has had the most success in the UK of them all… Don’t hate on British pop music.
I’d watch the first episode for nostalgia’s sake. She used to be hot as hell, until all that Botox or plastic doohickeys she got done to her face.
She shops for groceries? What, celery sticks?
You have to admit that at least she has a sense of humor about herself – that Little Ant & Dec video is hilarious!
This was the most ridiculous news piece I heard today. If people watch this, they will watch anything. And how on earth is she worth millions of dollars? It’s a crazy world.
It’s great. I love me some Spice Girls and for now this is the closest thing I’ll get to the reunion tour.
Please do not sully my nickname by attaching it to The Posh! Ewww.
I’d watch it to see how she and new bff Katie (I mean, Kate) coordinate outfits when they go out.
